" Hello Roberto, lovely to see you again... I have with me a bottle of Sassicaia Cabernet Sauvignon 2004, a gift from Sir Alex, perhaps we can share it later ? I was wondering if you'd had chance to review my application to your wine club ? I know Sir Alex will be disappointed but we have to move with the times and everything, I know McLeish & Moysie have applied & Fat Sam is booked in for next season, don't worry, I can lose the cap.. Do I detect a "Why do teams roll over at the Etihad" thread coming on sometime next season then Ted?

Not sure if anybody has pointed this out while I was offlineTed..But that statement by Taggart after the derby, complaining about his team still attacking at 1-3 and not hanging on to what they had and accepting the 1-3 instead of eventually losing 1-6 (I enjoyed typing that)...Was that Taggart suggesting his team should have parked the bus at home at fortress swamp, rolled over for us and accepted the loss?
Verty much sounds like it tome mate.

Taggart also berated his experienced defenders for not organising this on the pitch. If he is the greatest coach in the World, Why the fuck did he not raise is piss stained arse off his chair, venture into the technical area and sort it himself?

I mentioned that on the day mate, coming across as if he had no control of what happened and placing all the blame on the players. That one statement said more about Taggart than any other thing I've heard from him. Then you get Keane's statement saying it's all about Taggart, not the club, and you realise he isn't quite the manager you thought he was. His place in history will be written but there will be no real mention of money, which we all know has galvanised his success.

Anyone noticed the change of tact from certain media types? Prior to this game they were all going on that the leaders at Xmas in the last 2 seasons, and the last 5 of 8, have gone on to win the league. All's I've heard this morning is how only 8 out of 19 leaders have gone on to win it.

Not sure what media outlets you've been using but I've heard nothing but positive's today so far.

'City's form is ominious' seems to be the general theme of things.

Quite a few mate, but not a criticism, more of an observation. Sky have played it quite a few times this morning in order to keep the piece with the viewers and I'd suggest if we'd lost then they'd have continued with the 'Last 2 years line'.

I just like pointing out the nuances in which certain outlets will broadcast thier stories.

On the way back I noted on TS that Shrek's stupendous goal was Roberto Carlos'esque whereas AJ's was alright as well. I couldn't wait to see Shrek's goal when I got home only to be let down by the similarity. Good, yes, RC'esque, you're having a laugh.

Everyone, including ex players, were saying how Utd never stop attacking, as it's Sir Bacon's way. Then Sir Bacon comes on & says they were stupid to keep on attacking. No comment.

I would be interested to see a comparison, taking into account transfer fees at the time, wages, club's income & expendature, inflation etc etc; a genuine, accurate representation of how much it would cost Mancini to sign: Bruce, Pallister, Schmeichel, Irwin, Ince, Phelan, Webb, Wallace, McClair, Hughes, Ke***, Ca****a, Kanchelskis etc etc & how much it would have cost his predecessor to sign the likes of Bryan Robson who were already there. Almpost all of those players were amongst the most sought after in their positions & he bought the fucking lot within the space a season or two.

Hughes for instance was Bayern Munich's CF when Bacon re signed him. How much would they demand to let Gomez go now ? And I still want to know what the fuck was going on with Leeds pretty much giving him C*****a. What kind of corruption occured there ? That's like Utd giving Liverpool Berbatov on the cheap now; never ever ever going to happen, yet it did.
