Patience

It was mentioned in the commentary but I'd like to know the opinions of those at the ground. Are the fans keeping up with our patient style of play? Or do the fans get restless when we go 5 minutes without scoring or taking a shot?

I think it's 90% patience; they are actually starting to understand how it all works, but there is of course the occasional knob head & there is the occasional groan when passes are made in the box when players are in in shooting positions, but I think the crowd is mostly right on those occasions tbf.

The test will come if we hit a bad patch & are knocking the ball about v a packed defence when we're desperate for 3 points.

I think this is a proof how much have we grown. Seeing people upset that we haven't scored in the first 10 minutes is something that demostrates our new mentality.
A thew clubs in the world can have this feeling and it is beyond great.

As I just posted in another thread, the singers corner seem to loose concentration after a couple of minutes where nothing much happens or when the game is all but won, and this must be the reason why they concentrate on watching the away fans or picking out a fat guy in the away end rather than supporting their own team.

For the most part, it is not often that a pass does go astray, but when it does it is often the case now that it is an unforced error and there are a few groans around where I sit but mainly now because we know they can do better - rather than in the past it was a groan of inevitability.

If we hadn't been ahead going into the 2nd half, I reckon people could have gotten a whole lot more impatient last night, and there will be plenty of games in the future where we struggle to score in games like that - so we have to gee the players up to an extra effort, which is why I was so cricital of the vocal support last night.
