Superstition Issue

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Superstition Issue

Postby Blue Since 76 » Thu Dec 22, 2011 10:45 pm

In normal life I'm not at all superstitious. Football is obviously different and match days are full of them. However, one is going to cause an issue...

If I go to the game and we win or draw, I don't wash my City top. When we lose (at home) then in goes in the wash in disgust. Never been an issue my whole life and usually meant I got no more than 2 wears out of the thing. Thankfully I was willing to wash it in the close season but I'm now looking at a shirt which might have to do the full season.

I only ever wear it over something, so it's not sweaty but it's going to start looking like I've slept in it soon.

So, do I wash it or put up with it till May? Obviously me washing my shirt has no impact whatsoever on our results. But if I wash it and we lose...

Anyone else got a routine which has been ruined by us suddenly being good?

That is nothing. When i am watching our games i must sit in only one corner of the room and in my "lucky" chair and i must have my slippers right in front of me. Doing this the past 10 years.

Have to kiss my seasoncard on the way into the ground. Last time I didn't, we lost 0-3 against Arsenal.

There is not enough time to explain the various 'required rituals' that I must attend to each game. The better we do, the more obvious it is that I am clearly having an impact upon our destiny...... It's fucking stupid, but I just carry on.

Easily the most bizarre is our pet rabbit, the one-nil rabbit. I picked her up at half-time during the semi last season and willed her to work some magic. 1-0. I chanced again her before the Spurs Champions League clincher. 1-0. Then the Cup Final. 1-0. Things have expanded a little with various other outcomes on the back of us being so awesome, but the pattern is a good one. It's clearly her, has to be. Not the money, players or manager. No way.

Shoes...like fucking mirrors....Even more shiny than Doomie's head...and that's going some.
Tried and tested. Worked perfectly in 1968, 1969 and 1970...Then the bastards brought out wet look shoes and I stopped bothering as much. Sort of just left it after that until last season...my shoes won us the cup last year.
This year they're gonna win the League

Have a City fleece which I wore to the s-f against the scum, somebody slapped a smiley sticker on the arm. It has stayed there to this day and is worn when I watch City when we're out, it always plays a blinder and has a record of P8 W8!

Only current one is when walking up Ashton New Road to the ground, as you cross the railway bridge on the stadium side of the ground some no-mark has graffited "MUFC 35 Years" on the pavement. I spit on the MUFC bit every time I walk over over it.

Hahahaha...well in Piccs Mate.
For you info, I have been working very hard on my twat image. My new trainers are G Star Raw, a sort of very trendy, canvass material with a subdued subtle sheen.
I look that good, I am thinking of becoming a twat on a proffessional basis.

I'd keep away from Gillie though...he's only an amateur twat...:-)
