Here's me thinking Wigan were expected to lose at OT & we were expected to win at West Brom.

No I expected Wigan to give the rags a tough game like they do every season.

No problem with a team going to a top 4 side and thinking feck it we'll get nothing, providing they do it for all of them. However, how can Fulham get a point from us (from 2 down) and an away point at Chelsea yet roll over for the rags? Wigan got something from Liverpool and Chelsea and were shambolic yesterday. Strange how they all think the only team they can't beat is the rags.

On an unrelated topic, heard taggart on the radio yesterday talking about the abuse Kean gets. He said he'd rang him in the week for a chat but his phone was off. Wonder who plays Blackburn next?

It may also have had something to do with a certain sending off at 1-0, a time when the Pie-Eaters were getting a lot more of the play. Strange how Phil Dowd could see an elbow being thrown so clearly from 35 yards away, that no-one else saw, yet he can't usually see a foul under his nose. Anyone remember the Arsenal game?

And before you say it, I'm not saying that I think he's a cheat, but it does make you wonder if his puppet masters have had a word in his shell, like.

With the injuries over there and them having to play us, arse(who will be UP for it after the 8-2), Chelsea and spurs away and only liverpool at home we are still in control.

Maybe a fairytale ending to come with us beating them at the etihad to win the league. Which I would absolutely love. I would stand in my seat for an hour the game giving them shit while the police kept them in.

I believe 100% that the FA send refs out with agenda's to keep the league interesting and they look for the right moment to "get it wrong". Not all refs in all games just certain games every now and again.

Yeah it's a conspiracy theory but refs have conveniently fucked us over at just the right times this season.

all of the ball, all in their half, closest we came to scoring was Balo's cheeky try from the left side which banged off the crossbar. Not exactly an impressive story for me to be honest.

Asking me to calm down because it's just a loss i think is as much as overreaction in the opposite direction as others have been frantic in the move to panic stations.

Point is -- like at Fulham, we've thrown away a nice chance to maintain our lead and forge ahead. We've lost a 5-pt cushion, and a nearly 20-goal GD. Why can't those fucking things be mentioned? If there was any season where it seemed like GD might matter it feels like this one for some reason. It's going to tight as fuck...and no, i haven't given up faith, i'm just perturbed that we've pissed away another chance. It'll happen again i'm sure. And no i won't take it happily. ;)

cheers

You can try to sugar coat it but in reality we are expected to beat teams like west brom and not go out and give a lacklustre performance those are the games that you need to win to be champions

They've made up 7 goals in two games this week. We still have a 5 goal cushion (until Blackburn take one for the league) so we haven't lost it. Both teams are much better than all the other teams in the league, proven by the number of points, goals scored and goals conceded. On their day, other teams can beat us or take something from us (Chelsea, Newcastle etc) but week in, week out, no one will keep with the two of us. That may make it nail biting through to May, but we're going to have to accept it. I fully expect us to only get a point at Sunderland (although I never believe we'll win) which would put us 2 points behind going into a tough Liverpool game. By the end of that week we could be 4 points behind. C'est la vie. They've got a load of tough away games, including to us, so don't expect this to be a straightforward procession to a crowning in May. I doubt there will be more than 5 points in it come the end of the season, so it's always going to be tight

Just been out for a quiet pint on my own as the Mrs. has gone to the sales and overheard a bunch of rags conversation. It went along the lines of The season starts here , weve done it before , were this were that were fantastic blah blah blah , God I fucking hate them with a passion.

As true as this is, it happens to anyone. If the scum hadn't dropped points somewhere so far, they would be way ahead of us, instead they are level. This means that shit happens to them too, and it will again.

I agree that we should win against teams like WBA, and I would add that we should do so easily even; however football is not math and the outcome is not always the one it should be.

I know he is but come on, it was quite possibly the least interesting story ever told.......'mates talk about their team with optimism' shocker!!

Sick of reading about the filth on here.

Also, slightly OT but this and the recent thread in off topic both highlight the need for an ***offical 'down the pub minding my own business' thread***.

Glass half full/half empty, different people see it different ways. But during the season that we've been breaking records, still top of the league, and playing incredible football - I'd say the glass is overflowing. Losing your shit about drawing away to a team playing a 10-0-0 formation is acting like a spoiled brat who thinks every game should be handed to us. No one said winning the league would be easy, no matter how many times you say the rags are 'shit'.

Maybe some people just like to whinge and worry, but it gets mighty annoying and boring. I can only thank god that some of yall aren't in charge of City or else we'd change our manager/team after every slight misstep. Relax and enjoy the ride
