Bolton Agree Fee For Cahill

To Chelsea. On SSN now but no price mentioned. I wonder how little they paid for him and if that puts Luis at risk?

Ditto. Bolton are losing probably their best defender, which doesn't say a lot as it's Bolton. And Chelsea are getting an over-hyped centre half. Smiles all around from me.

Apparently 7 mil. Seen him get beat one on one too many times this season to still rate him as highly. Who knows, a new team may boost his confidence. But echo the feeling that I'm glad he didn't come here

I sit next to a Bolton Season ticket holder in work an he cannot praise Cahill highly enough and said the only thing he is gutted about is the price they will get as he was always going to go to a bigger club. He said to me last year that he suspected he would eventually be Terrys replacement for Chelsea an England. Looks like he might be right.

I have not seen enough of Cahill to rate him TBH, but my mate is a good lad and not a typically blinkered footy fan, I would take his analysis as correct as he knows his onions.

SSN reporting a statement from AVB saying that player and club are miles apart on terms.

They'll end up getting Onuoha as a replacement for about 4 or 5mill probs, which is a fantastic deal for Bolton. Onuoha, if he gets a run of games at centre back, will be just as good as the very overrated Cahill in my opinion.

One thing's for sure, he wont be going to PSG since they just annouced Ancelotti as their manager. (I laughed several times at him frowning at Luis from the touchline)

Never seen anything of Cahill to make me think he's better than Ned. Most overrated player in the prem at the moment.

About half of Bolton's squad is out of contract in summer. Perhaps why they're doing so badly if they don't want to get injured. I'd take Klasnic as a 4th striker on a free

Lets not kid ourselves. Ned isn't half as good as some on here think he is.

Ned looked great when he played at centre back for us when he was emerging. He's not the best passer, no, but as a defender he's pretty solid. Just as good as Richard Dunne if he got regular football, and we all idolised him.

we all idolized him, well everyone but Ant (ahem), when we were strugglers. The same way Bolton idolize Cahill as they struggle. The women all look much sexier when yr half-shitfaced. FACT.

it could really be the thing that shakes his talent lose. He's a tasty player, but i think CB in this league just isn't going to be his thing. Not a crime, lots of upside for that kid still despite all the knives out for him.

I like Ned, he's got 2 'A' Levels. And that's why I couldn't understand his rant on SS, mustn't have much sense.

It's his own fault that he's in this predicament and could've gone onto bigger and better things rather than getting a run-out once or twice a year.

I agree. He has a bit of class about him but he's not gonna make it as a centre half in the PL.

I think he'd make a good full back. Not sure he has enough discipline or positional awareness to play def mid.

There are a lot of plus's to signing Cahill, I can understand why Chelsea are so keen.

Good solid centre half, not a world beater but bloody solid, been very good every time I've seen him play us anyways.

The main attraction though has to be his status as homegrown and english.

Meets a lot of criteria does Cahill, worth Chelsea's time and money, perhaps worth a cheeky bid from us... no more than £5 million though... last year of contract and all that.
