This.

He was OK for us pre-the takeover. For a club with aspirations of challenging for and winning major honours, he simply isnt at that level.

So, you're saying he would be fantastic for Bolton then.

I don't think Cahill would look out of place in a decent team, he justs looks gash in Bolton's. I don't think he's has good as what we've got but he's not far off and would push our CBs for a position.

Funny how we say he isn't good enough but the the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and United have all been interested. Makes you think.

He has two problems - he's poor on the ball and his injuries. His injuries seem to have stopped, although we'll see when he's playing regularly, the ball control will never improve.

When he had a decent run under Hughes he looked our best CB and I think he'll do a good job in the prem for someone.

He would never be a starter for us now, but we still need squad players. At the moment I'd still prefer to have to play a few games with him at CB than Savic. Too many people seem to think that we need 25 world class players, ignoring the problems that would bring.

If Ned goes, our CB options are Vince, Lescott, Micah and the Toure's. If we had a bad injury to Vince/Joleeeen or even a 3 game ban, we'd be in trouble, especially during the ACN.

Still think we need to upgrade Lescott, but I'd that's not happening getting rid of Ned now could be a mistake

I really don't understand this term "squad player"...Usually when the term is used by City fans about City players, they are referring to a sub-standard player who is not good enough to make the 1st team but good enough to be a cover for an injured player.....

....but if he covers for an injured player, he will bein the 1st team...and it will be acceptable forhim to be substandard?

All players are squad players...None should be substandard...All should be good enough to play 1st team football.
I KNOW THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU UNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU THINK I WROTE, BUT I AM NOT SURE YOU REALISE THAT WHAT YOU READ IS NOT WHAT I MEANT

The best thing about this story is it means that we're not buying him. Completely overrated player who is nowhere near good enough for a top 4 side

Ned before Savic all day, absolutely. I think we need an extra defender and I keep plugging Jagielka. I know it's Moyes, etc, but he is the best young CB option, in my opinion.

Talking of defenders, we could do with at least one new one. It's noticeable that Savic has hardly kicked a ball for us since he arrived, which means that Mancini sees him as one for a year or two down the line. In the here and now, however, we need someone of established quality to help us draw a line under all the unnecessary goals we have conceded. Either that, or a new defensive coach.

Hasn't Savic's coach said he's off in the window, maybe a loan?

Pleased were not signing Cahill

I think if they bring neddy in they'll be upgrading. its a bit annoying though that we need a centre half and were not even going to consider Neddy but i suppose he shot himself in the foot by speaking out.

I could think of worse centre half partnerships then Neddy and Boyata!

I am genuinely astonished by that fact. Ta. Maybe not take him then!

Already? Pretty pointless signing then, really. If he had been a kid we'd brought through, or if he'd cost a couple of million, fine, but he wasn't exactly cheap and he's off on loan already? Ridiculous. We can't keep doing this.
