He cant spend the money to buy players he wants anymore, some of the players out there are shite only kept together by him, and at times they are absolutely fuckin appalling. Real 'writing on the wall' stuff.
Anyone who wasn't a megalomaniac would see that the end of last season, or failing that this season, is time to cut and run and retire with a great reputation in tact. He saw the very great Brian Clough carry on too long. But of course he thinks he is invincible. The players from his teams in the late nineties would have a heart attack if they had to play alongside some of these no-raters he has today.
The press call it being 'very driven'. I call it stupity, megalomania or, as Ted says, senility.
They are used to getting away with murder & mistakes going unpunished but the transfer from Ferguson to whoever has to be done right or they will fuck up spectacularly. A lot of these teams who currently shite themselves about playing Utd will fancy having a go once the invincible Sir Taggart chucks it in. Ideally, they need someone like Mourinho but people close to him say he is not interested in being the next manager there; he would only be interested in talking over from someone else, not following Baconface.
It could be that they will be ready to loosen the purse strings for the next manager to buy a new team, but if that bloke gets it wrong, the money will dry up again, and we will be getting better and better so the team they build will have to be fucking good.
There is talk of Solskjaer being groomed for the job but he just doesn't seem to be enough of a cunt to handle that situation.
Some interesting times ahead both in Manchester & Stretford. I know where I'd rather be.
