A replacement for De Jong, the right name has already been mentioned on the thread, is more of a piority for me.

Our playing style has evolved this season and we have so much posession in games that he has become surplus to requirements imo.

No offence to him but he was a complete waste of a jersey today, we simply didn't need a player of his style in that game.

We need someone who can do the defensive work but who is also a quality all round footballer with strong attacking qualities.

I reckon Van Persie is finished.

He hasn't scored one effin goal so far this year............

Bobbins again tonight.

Wenger should bite our hands off if we offer 20 Mill and some specsavers glasses. ( Tosser Wenger thought the foul
on Gervinho was a 200% penalty. How can he say that ? he never sees such incidents during a match, well those against
the rrrrr * ).

Does everyone have fuckign amnesia ?

This little turd slagged us off rotten when we won the lottery...he can score 50 goals a season for all I care..dont ever ever want him here.

In any case I can see him getting injured again pretty soon.

We put a value on Tevez at his CURRENT age as a seller. So it's not to unreasonable for us to put a value on RVP as a buyer.

But our policy now is to no longer spend big sums of money on older players. If Tevez was available at 25 mil now, it would be against club policy to sign him. Seven or eight mil perhaps but not 20 30 plus. The same will go for Van Persie.

De Rossi on the other hand will be a possibility even at the age of 28 as he'll be much cheaper & Bob will make a case for him being essential.

he shouldn't cost more than 10M being out of contract, should he? 7 or 8 seems "reasonable" even with the El City tax levied by the Italianos.

I would think maximum, as we could technically sign him up for summer right now & pay them nothing. Of course DeRossi could, out of loyalty, say that he won't sign for us unless we pay Roma the fee. All it's down to is how much DeRossi wants to come then how much we value 3/4 months of his services. I recon, so long as he picks up the pace straight away, he would confirm us as Champions.

The latest quote I can find from Roma is:

"We are trying to fix all of the details and are looking for a solution. We are making every possible effort given the resources available.

"My perception is that we will reach an agreement. Because of the love that De Rossi has for Roma, I am sure he will not sign with anyone else until he has explored all options to extend his contract here."

Doesn't sound as if anything is agreed with Roma.

De Rossi will be this seasons Rodney Marsh imo, I can see him totally unbalancing the side/squad for some reason. I hope he stays with Roma as good a player as he is.

Being close to the end of his contract we could get him for a low price I think.

All we have to do is get Samir to tweet him a picture of his bank balance and VP will hand in a transfer request. 15-20 mil and then we pay vp 200,000 a week. Still saving (a reported) 30,000 a week after tevez is off the books.

Iced get over 25 for tevez then we are making a profit off the whole thing still.

I remember being at an away game in that very period; Marsh was on the bench & the fans were shouting for him to be brought on as City were bobbins. Ready made excuse for players who let themselves down & should have done better .

If it was the other lot who were linked with him, they would be more likely drawing examples of signing Can***a & winning the league by 10 points. If they did sign him I'd be pretty worried tbh.

No danger of De Rossi unbalancing the side. He's just not that type of player.

If anything he would bring more balance to the side as he is such a good, all round footballer.

However, I'm starting to have my doubts about him signing. There have been no noises at all from him or his agents. I'm starting to think that this delay in him signing a deal is all about stalling and posturing for the best package Roma can put together. Hope I'm wrong and I'd like to think that he'd want a crack at winning something.
