I think people should take a look at the Guardian's Chalk Board.

If we are not going to cross the ball then it's pointless him being in the team.

This. Dzeko is not going to run all around the pitch like Tevez used to do and like Aguero could; and if he does it, then he will be much less effective because he's not so fast and he's, admittedly, got a worst touch than Aguero or even Balotelli. But, put Dzeko into the box and pepper it with high crosses and you will have the League top scorer.

I'm not saying he has limited technique because that's not true and we have seen it at times, with great passes or even with some long range efforts like the one he scored with at Spurs; but his best quality is his aerial power especially into the box and we should exploit it when he's in the side, or he becomes an average/good striker, nothing more.

I'm not a Dzeko hater, rather the opposite. I thought he was good, but not great, yesterday and alright against Sunderland. However, against Sunderland he actually did get quite a few good, high crosses (can remember three only in the second half),but his heading was way below par. He didn't get one single header on target.

This brings me to another weak point of Dzeko; remember how he was poor last season, then he started this one on fire and stayed so until he was dropped? imho he's a player who relies a lot on his confidence in himself and he will be at his best when he gets a run of games in the team and things start going his way; if he keeps playing and gets a goal, I'm sure he'll be back to the scoring machine he was at the start of the season.

This is exactly what I think. We dropped a bollock by taking him out of the team at a point when he was absolutely lethal. He came back in, missed a couple, & suddenly struggled a bit, since when he's been blowing hot & sometimes very cold but he's never had a run. The difficulty is how to get him a run in the team without it costing us when he's not scoring because at times he can be really fucking awful & the boo boys are circling around him. I also think it may take more than one goal to get him to 100% but I think it will happen for him again this season & probably in spectacular fashion.

If you don't buy a ticket you don't win the raffle. Dzeko buys more tickets than any other City player so sooner or later he'll get the prizes again.

Love this photo, classic.

On a side note, it was great seeing the same rag and dippers today that yesterday were walking around with smug looks on their faces expecting us to lose last night. We played conservative by our recent standards and it paid off nicely, and that's with some players a little out of form. I just don't see how the ragtards can cope with us on Sunday. They're gonna need all the dodgy refereeing decisions and good fortune they can get. This is gonna get very painful for them and I'm loving every minute of it!

Not that he's doing brilliantly or anything, but he gets himself into the game far more than aguero and with aguero's ability and pace this should not be the case at all. From where I can see it, aguero would be far more effective running and chasing down in that deeper role and getting the ball to dzeko in and around the box. They both need to have a word with each other imo.

Also, we're one of tue shittest teams at crossing the ball from the wings and we all know why.

The one game where we actually used the wings to great effect was Spurs. And look what Dzeko did then. That's the type of striker he is. That header against Spurs was one of the best I've ever seen. That's his type of game.

I think you will find there is more to being a striker than just heading the ball. Dzeko's work for the team is very underestimated it seems.

I think you are looking for a reason to find fault.

We are playing amazing football and looking to win trophies. Even if not this year, certainly soon.

Why moan about the negative stuff when we have it so so so fuckin good? Noone has it better than us. Simply amazing. We’re not just winning, we’re being entertained. Love it.

Absolutely man. Absolutely.

I'm just enjoying the ride. Sure there are some bad results every now and then (and those are very few and very far between) but I'm just buzzing about the football we play and where we are going and everything. Can't be arsed with negativity surrounding individual players and one of performances.

I kind of know that we will be shit again somewhere down the line and if I'm not enjoying what we are doing right now, I'm pretty sure I will never be satisfied. I feel that THESE are the glory days of my lifetime. The days I will be telling my kids and grandchildren about.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I don't think we'll ever be shit again. We won't always win everything but we will always compete & win fairly often. We are just warming up. Great times already though. I love it but I always look at it the same way Bob does; we must continue to improve.
