Do you not think it's slightly different in light of Liverpool's recent position on racist comment issues?

I don't think Liverpool believe its ok. I think they are defending their player because the claim of Evra doesn't sit well. Evra went balistic because he thought he had been called a N*gg*r (which he hadn't) the same word he freely uses btw. Whilst I 'm not condoning the term used (Negro) in this instance, it is Spanish for black, not N*gg*er as originally alleged by Evra. Suarez, imo, has been naive/clumsy at worst and not intentionally racist. One thing for sure, he won't be saying nefro on a football pitch again which is the best outcome all round.

I think you're all talking Bollox, these things just don't happen. Saurez' comments were just misunderstood and now the Dippers fans have been misquoted.

You see, sometimes it's easier to belittle the incident in order to brush it under the carpet, isn't it?

Liverpool's owners also happen to own what is historically baseball's most racist club.

To their credit they have tried to confront this legacy to some degree, although never in the context of a developing race controversy. Will be interesting to see how they try to control the damage.

They're a scum bag club just the same way leeds, millwall or cardiff are.

They always try to put themselves i the best possible light even though they killed their OWN fans with their OWN stupidity, there's heisel, there's this little bit racism. They always adopt the persona of a victim when they're the ones who are doing the victimising so much so that they should change their name to grieverpool. I fucking hate liverpool and everything they stand for, just like the munichs but with funny accents. Fuck off and grieve you twats.

Tragic stuff but I personally don't buy all this Liverpool are a racist club bollox and I'm surprised at some on here that actually think they are/might be. Risible stuff

As I understand it, the exact word used is disputed. However, it doesn't seem to be disputed that Suarez said "I don't speak to <whichever word it was >" How is that not racist? Telling someone you will not speak to them because of the colour of their skin is about as racist as it fucking gets!

Do you honestly believe he said the latter when he has team mates who are black ?

It doesn't make sense.

I was on about the Oldham player going ballistic last night btw, not Evra.

But if you think a player who cheats with handballs, tries to get his opposition players sent off, bites players ears, and has played in a racially relaxed nation for 4 years prior to coming here, was passing the time of day with Evra, it is you who is naive mate.

I don't know if you read the report, but they only just stopped short of straight out calling him a liar over the affair. Not based on what Evra said, but based on his own contradictions.

Back to the club though, a club trying to smooth over a difficult situation would have said very very early on, "We are aware that something has occurred on the pitch, and we believe it was a cultural misunderstanding and have give him education about what is and is not acceptable in this country".

Thing is, they didn't, they backed him. When the evidence and statements came to light Liverpool couldnt do an about turn, so were left in a difficult position.

The fact remains that my mate who was ejected didnt get a hearing about the context, he was banned for life, but Suarez has gone unpnished - that regardless of the riughts and wrongs of either my mate or suarez, it's double standards

What does him having black team mates have anything to do with him being racist or not? He doesn't get to choose who he plays with, that's the manager's job. So he can still play with black players and be racist

How many black refs do we have ? I suppose that makes the fucking FA racist according to your idiotic analysis.......dont be a spastic Beefy ffs !!

The bindippers fucked up big time and should have dealt with it in a different way,,,, doesn't make them racists but it does make them clueless.

So cos he called him a negro and not a nigger that's ok? What a load of bollocks. Why should he mention the colour of evra's skin at all? The fact that he even brings it up shows he is racist

Don't talk Bollox Carl. Referee's decide to train for a job whereas players are bought by a club to do a job. Shit analagy, spastic. My point on black players is relevent, not by saying they are institutionally racist but by them not having any black players other than Johnson there is no control in place, especially when it comes to their foreign contingent, as Saurez has proved.

And, I don't think that they are racist, I don't even believe Saurez is racist but he was prepared to wind someone up with a racist slur, showing how much of a fucktard he is. And has been said, dealt with properly this wouldn't have got out of control.
