His knee is the reason he failed his medical at Stoke & only got a pay as you play deal at WHU.

I don't think he enjoys a purple patch. He was as good for Hoffenheim & his scoring record then only pales in comparison because he either (1) had to play on the right or left in a front three (when Ibisevic had his incredible run of 18 goals in 17 games playing in the centre among other things), (2) struggled with injuries or (3) contract matters.

His record in France & Belgium was even better.

its said he has a 10m release clause

But if someone stumps up the 10 mil, does he have a choice??

That's where I'm confused and if I remember correctly this debate came up this summer in relation to a transfer.
Does a release clause mean that if someone pays it the player can get out of his contract and sign with the team offering or is it that the release clause is a minimum for him to leave and even if someone pays the release clause amount the team doesnt have to sell.
Basically, what does a release clause and its monetary value really mean?
I'm not really a City fan. I'm just here for attention.

It means that if someone stumps up the cash, the holding club must allow transfer talks to take place. If agreement is reached the player can go and there's nothing the holding club can do about it, other than offer a new contract.

Usually the come up on the continent eg Hulk's €88m one. They usually only apply domestically though and are to prevent hostile bids from the bigger clubs.

The best example here is Barton's move to Newcastle. They stumped up his release so we had to let him speak to them and go if he wanted. That then brought the infamous loyalty bonus which he wanted as he hadn't asked for the transfer.

He's a best no doubt about it, just don't know if we can accommodate a 4th big name. If we could tevez would be playing tonight.

If FFP wasn't an issue I would say buy him for insurance and to help win the Europa League (a trophy plus help our co-efficient for Champs Lge), can't see him as first choice but he and Dzeko would have a major chance of delivering the Europa as well as giving the necessary back up support to Aguero and Balotelli in the league campaign.

Without a 4th striker we are a bit vulnerable. But there seems to be a bit of a leash on the purse strings right now. And this guy has a dodgy knee remember. RSC re-visited.

His knee is too unreliable, he'd be another RSC and he's off to the ACON so it's a definite no for me- Gudetti seems to be banging them in for fun in Holland & was surprised to see his loan extended for the season
