Cant help but think if Joe had been in net today being vocal at the back things might have been different. I think Mancini is great.. and we fought back well.. but he made a bad decision today resting Hart.

Disagree. Panty did fine. Rooney's header and Welbeck's goal were pinpoint finishes. No keeper would of saved them. He was unlucky with penalty aswell.

Don't think leaving Hart made that much difference it's not as if we had De Gae as reserve, Panty did alright & the experience should help, was unlucky with the penalty although his clearance beforehand was woeful & he should have come for one late on, but otherwise the sending off changed everything - without Mario, Dzeko or refusenik we missed that outlet up front

I thought Pantilimon played well today. He couldn't do anything about the first 2 goals and did very well on the 3rd. His handling was superb, especially with the surface looking pretty slippery. I don't think having Hart would have changed anything, but it has given Pantilimon some more experience playing in English football.

agree 100% - and in contrast to the original poster I think it's testament to Panti that mancini has the confidence to select him for such a big game. He let nobody down.

I might be wrong but if i remember well he scored once, in a cup game against a very small team. So i was very confident when he went up for that corner. He did ok, but he will always be the second choice, no mather what.

I thought Pantymellon's clearance was responsible for us conceding the second goal but apart from that he played really well.

I like Lemons and I don't think he did much wrong today. I don't think the result would have been any different with Joe in goal either.

You're right about his clearance being at fault for their second but he almost saved Rooney's penalty and played fairly well. His distribution is a bit dodgy though

I was worried initially but he did decent. Nothing he couldve really done on Rooney's header.

The bad decision today was to play Kolarov...

I think for the first time since we had Weaver backing up James that I am VERY comfortable with our #2 keeper. Even for the brief time Joe backed up Shay.

i was worried when i saw him selected, but i think if he's our backup going forward that I would be much more comfortable than having stu taylor. Obviously having shay given as a #2 has a bit more appeal, but given is not going to stick around for a #2 spot at this point, and we knew that. I don't think Panti is a player who is ok with #2 in the future, he obviously wants to improve himself and has some fire. Better back up than de gea at this point.

Can't blame him for that result, only person you can really blame is Foy ... though I know many will include kolarov as well.

In fairness yes, but in reality it was a waste for everyone. I am talking a true #2 who is and accepts he is one.
