Penalties

Postby dazby » Thu Dec 22, 2011 10:35 am

Just a general question about the laws of the game. One thing that bugs me about the game is when a keeper makes a penalty save, if they are unfortunate enough for the ball to go straight back to the shooter, they get a second chance. For me, if a penalty is saved on the first go the keeper should be rewarded with a goal kick. This removes the bother about the players encroaching outside the keeper area and all that bollocks.

For me, same as a shootout. You score, you score. You miss, tough titties and no second chance.

What do you think?

play should definitely continue if a penalty is saved ... it's the same as a free kick really, just inside the box. Now if you want to talk about red cards and penalties then that is a different matter altogether.

Spot on. A red card and a penalty is too harsh.

bastards.

You'll think of me next time Joey makes a pen save and the opposition score off the rebound. You'll be filled with the agony of the injustice of it all and you'll think of me and this thread. And I too will be filled with the agony and the injustice of it all. Then my idea won't seem so bad.

bump!!

Go on admit it. You thought of me didn't you? A pen should only be one chance to score.

Why? Should a free kick be a one chance to score? Once the keeper makes a save the ball is back in play.

No. My opinion on penalties hasn't changed after today's game. Your idea is flawed

Agreed, but the capped sleeve t shirts, Aussie style haircuts and ultra tight shorts make Aussie Rules Football look really Gay!
