Kompany's 'Ban'

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Kompany's 'Ban'

Postby colonel_muck » Sun Jan 08, 2012 5:29 pm

First off just want to say I'm really proud of the lads today and think that peformance will work out very good for us in short and long term futures. A lot of positives.

On the BBC site they say Kompany will miss 4 games. WTF?

3 as it was a straight red and an extra one as it's his second red of the season.

Hearing that the ref has indicated that he feels he might have got it wrong! It's our only hope.

This is our only hope, if he says he made a mistake then we will win. If he does not we will lose the appeal.

That would be insinuating that he actually made the decision. We need Shrek to admit that it wasn't a red card first of all.

As soon as he denied the RAGs a penalty in the second half for Kolarov fouling directly in front of him I KNEW he was feeling guilty about the red.

I said exactly that to my lad at the time and I bet there are many more on here who thought the same.

C'mon on Nooly, that'd be pushing it. Would he seriously risk being struck off Baconfaces' christmas card list?

So far he will be missing for the Klan at home on Wed, Wigan Away, Spurs at home and the Klan away.

What do we do for cover if the worst is to happen? We have Savic, Nedum in the doghouse and the option to bring Boyata on loan? Or do we go out and buy?

I guess Micah could be moved inside and Zaba play at RB. Far from ideal though.

Richard Dunne has a buy out clause in his contract.
Or we could follow Taggart's example and deretire Tommy Booth

We've got a promising youngish lad out on loan with some prem experience earned this season, not sure if we can recall him, but rather than buying/paying someone else we should bring Boyata back if possible. Hopefully they'll overturn the red though, which seems the only outcome to me of our appeal.
