the reason Foy sent Kompany off was because rooney told him to!

Outrageous.

You can clearly see Foy turn and allow play to continue after Kompany collects the ball. He doesn't even raise his hand to blow the whistle.

He only reacts when Rooney runs over to him. None of the other United players complained immediately, not even Nani. Some of them just joined in after Rooney spoke to Foy and then they do the usual United thing and gang-up on the ref to intimidate him into making a decision.

Just seen the replay of the incident for the first time. How was that a red card??!!! It wasn't even a foul, it was a perfectly timed tackle FFS!!

Exactly Lee. I too got home and watched the incident and initially he wasn't even going to give a foul!

The non-award of a penalty to Valencia in the second half smacked of someone with a serious guilt complex of what he'd already done.

To add insult to injury I have absolutely no faith right now in us getting the ban overturned. In fact they will probably add a game on for a frivolous appeal!

This true coz I thought it seemed an incredibly long time to change the decision? We have to use this in the appeal if the footage is available

At the time, I went ballistic as I didn't think it was a foul, so couldn't believe the red. Heard the radio commentary on the way home and Cheeseman's reaction was the same as mine. Alan Green says good tackle as it happens. Watched the TV and they seemed shocked it was a red.

I still don't see why it's a foul. It isn't two footed against the player. One leg goes in front of the ball and blocks it with the calf. The other legs then follows behind Nani. As he's got two legs what are you supposed to do with the other one? If its even a foul, then football is finished as a contact sport as I can't see how you can tackle unless you have to be stood up to do it

I think the reaction round by me summed it up, the whole block was in complete stunned silence when he whipped the red card out, especially as play continues for a couple of seconds. Ridiculous decision.

VK was marginally off the ground...MARGINALLY. The panel need to compare this to the tackle by Spearing for Dippers against Fulham. Fairly similar looking challenges, but night and day in my oppinion.

Different rules apply to Rooney, yet Utd fans still think the FA, media and football officials are biased against them

Potato got his England ban reduced to 2 games afteran appeal by the FA. And that was for a blatant kick off the ball. Hope they remember that when dealing with Vince.

I have a friend who is a ref and he is saying he would have sent him off as well.

It reminded me of the sending off in the Scouse derby. The minute both feet leave the ground you are asking for trouble.

No way it was a sending off though.

Same here, my friend (a rag) hashad contact with 10 or 15 fellow refs and they all think it was a red. Wankers.
