Kolo looked way off earlier in the season, his form picked up.

Exactly my point. He's there simply to stop goals and it ain't working.

To coin a phrase, he's a water carrier and every team needs one. He's not playing well at the moment but he's rarely getting a game.

He struggled yesterday but in the first half, we had a midfield of him. And Silva who was dropping back to help out. And AJ and Nasri who couldn't be arsed.

He could have done better tracking Shrek for their goal, but there were a whole load of mistakes for that one. For the second, I think he pulled out as he was likely to be red carded I he'd caught him. In the circumstances, that was probably the right thing to do.

With Yaya and Barry available, I don't think he's a first 11 player at the moment, but hopefully he finds his form again this month, as we're going to need the bodies

I think Vinnie's red for absolutely nothing affected him for the goal they scored from just outside our area - you can see him check himself as he's about to challenge for the ball and pull back. If there's one thing Nige isn't, it's a bottler, my take on it was that he made a split second decision to avoid the team going down to 9 men in light of a dodgy ref and hoped his presence near the the ball would be enough to put the shooter off. Like others I think he just needs a few games to get his sharpness back, but also like others I think we've evolved our way of playing to a point where his one dimensional approach isn't enough anymore. If we lose him in the summer I'll be sad but will understand.

I thought he was pivotal in our comeback. I'll take the first half criticism but second half he was class.

He warmed into the game and will ensure we keep a clean sheet against the dippers.

Hope you're right as I think he was brilliant at times the last two years. We've just changed so much since then.

I thought he had a difficult job to do that he coped with sufficiently, I do not think he played well, but I will not criticise the guy given his situation.

We had poor players out there, Nige was not one of them.

NDJ will be pissed off with not stopping that goal yesterday. He'll improve over the coming weeks... just hope he doesnt waste chances by trying to shoot.

Not really the kind of player I like watching but in the second half yesterday I thought he did well.

He can fuck off in the summer for a more attack minded replacement.

Not only did he bottle out of the Wellbeck goal, - although he might have feared the Rag ref might have carded him also, - but it was his badly underhit pass which immediately preceded the Kompany sending off.
I hope he's not in a sulk because of his stalled contract negotiations, or not getting enough games, but he badly needs to get his act together.
As of now he's well off his standards off the previous two seasons, which can't be entirely explained away by lack of game time.

I agree 100% that he is not up to the standard he set for himself over the previous seasons ... but this is now his time to step it up, and if he truly does want a new contract with pay raise (i would expect) than lets see if he has the character to earn it. Bring back the destroyer.

I honestly think that if they hadn't scored the 2nd goal we would have won the game. We were in control even with 10 men and he dropped a major clanger and gave Welbeck the goal. He just doesn't seem to have the same hunger/ drive he had last season.

You wont believe this but I've only partially enjoyed saying "I told ya" to all and Sundry. Fact is his inability to pass a football forward accurately has been matched only by his inability to time a tackle. The latter9though not the first) is a complete mystery .Obviously going to be replaced by a footballer, but we do owe him a debt for his efforts last season.

The thing is he cannot tackle anyone that's in front of him anymore..the ball gets played to the right or left or goes past him.

I do not see anything positive in what he brings to the table now...that gutless incident of allowing Welbeck to take a shot was incredible...I would bench him unless we are totally fucked with injured or suspended players from now till end of the season.

On a side note , he will be sold this summer imo.

He should get a decent run of games now but he has no long term future at the club and will be gone in the summer.

We already have a central midfielder who can play this role, has a better range of passing and ability to get forward too. His name is James Milner.

It's not like it was 50-50 with Grace Jones for their second. He was certain to win it had he gone for it. Compare that to someone like SWP who would have headed a brick for City, for me Nige can go now.

Well f@@king said dazby.......Yeah first half he made mistakes, but second half he grafted and hounded the scum midfield, I thought he had an excellent second half and I was proud.

Now have a go at the c@@nts who jogged around the midfield and didn't give a shit both first n second half....yes there's threads on them but Nige is ring rusty, it showed 1st half......but sorry everyone, second hald he was very worthy of wearing our blue shirt!!!

I agree with this as well. He looked out of depth in the first half and you could clearly see that he lacked match fitness. He got into the game in the second half, though and played really well. I fully expect him to step up to the plate now that Yaya is gone.
