Micah and Lescott

Bring Micah in to partner Lescott if/when Kompany has to serve his ban? We've got cover at right back with Zab. I wouldn't like to throw Savic in there just yet!

I'd agree. I thought Micah looked good today. Kuyt and Carroll are hardly known for their movement are they? Micah would handle them easily enough.

Micah and Dunnie performed like beasts together. Lescott and Richards are known to be mates and I think they'd communicate well together. Probably the best option if Komps is banned.

Agree completely, plus Micah lifts for the big games.

Really love him, well on his way to being a city legend.

No no no. Not comfortable about this. Sven and Hughes tried fucking around putting him in centre back and it wasn't just a disaster, it ended up setting him back a few years as a full back. He was great today, full of passion and spirit and wouldn't let him go for £300m plus Messi. But I really don't think he is capable of playing there over three or four games without making a mistake that would cost us a goal. He's a great full-back lets leave it at that. I'm more than happy with Savic over two carling cup games and Wigan. Spurs could be tricky for him, but would still rather see him there than Micah.

I don't think he should be a centre back proper etc but i do think he'd do better against Carroll than Savic would...

Savic against Carroll???

As great as Micah is at full back, we need to have a big presence at centre back against Liverpool to mark Carroll. Savic, whilst he has potential, struggled against QPR against high balls and that's part of Liverpool's game when Carroll plays.

I'd play Zab full back, with Micah and Lescott at centre back.

Me too for the Liverpool game but when we play Wigan in a weeks time put Savic at central defense with Lescott.

Permission to speak Mr Colonel Muck Sir,

Under Sven and Hughes?....That was so long ago that even Bert Trautmann hadn't been invented. Do you not think that after 3-4 our Micah might have developed a little. Four years is a long time and Micah is a totally different quality of player.

Who else would we play there if we didn't move Micah over? There are still doubts over Savic at centre-half. Boyata's out on loan. Onuoha is persona non grata. Gareth Barry is needed in the midfield. I'd go with Onuoha myself if it came to it but Bob will do his own thing.

We could put another kid in there, I suppose. Mancini has done it before, I seem to recall. Doug would know whether there is anyone anywhere near. Rekik? Looks a player but a bit lacking in stature from what little I have seen of him.

I think the appeal will be successful and this will all turn out to be academic.

Micah's of more use to us at RB in my opinion, and always has been.

Last game Carroll was dropping to our left away from Komps and trying to get himself one on one with Clichy, I would guess he will do the same midweek so I don't have any reservations about playing Savic against Liverpool with Carroll in mind. We need a plan for Jolene to help Clichy (or whoever is partnering Nige as deep midfielders) against Carroll's threat.

I reckon he's our best shot, especially against Carroll, and, as others have said, he's had a few years to develop since he was last played at CB. Completely forgot that Gareth Barry used to play there though!

Cant see him doing that in all honesty.

Savic and Lescott will be the centre backs.

Bob has already shown that he has faith in Savic, and he knows that he needs games to improve. He's had some poor moments but that will be ironed out with game time. I personally think we should give him the chance.

Micah is more important to us at right-back, and will improve the team more playing there, than if we play him centre half and throw someone else into his position.

Rekik is a top prospect but he has only just turned 17! I wouldnt worry about the centre back position as we have quite a few who can play there even if it is just a temporary cover role. The team just needs to retain a positive focus and get it right on the attacking front and score the necessary goals.

Thank you for the information, Doug.

One thing all these "incidents" are doing is bringing the squad together in the best possible manner.
