I've said in the other thread; if we'd been playing Liverpool at Anfield twice in the space of a few days, we would be in fucking peril from suspensions & god knows what. In the old days it used to be mainly giving Liverpool pens & offside goals but now they don't put so much pressure on, the easiest way to help them is to send oppo players off. We'll be lucky to get through the LC games without it happening again.

We need to go and win The Carling Cup. We have a great opportunity to put another trophy on the board to further quieten down the dicks in the press and at OT. Important we do that to spur us on for the last 3 months of the season. What a boost it would be to already have a trophy in the bank with 3 months to go.

Under normal circumstances, losing doesn't come with blessings, just gut wrenching disappointment. Osccasionally, there are losses that allow a team to learn important lessons about itself and its rivals. Sunday's lessons should prove invaluable as we continue to develop.

We knew our best team was better thsan theirs, now we know a ten man City reserve team can beat them. Great for our confidence. Importantly, the rags know it too and that knowledge will be disastrous for their confidence.
Considering their desperation for money and their need for marketting, the World will also be aware and Sunday will have not have done their cause much good.

I do worry about winning too many trophies and how the high cost of metal polish to keep them nice and shiny will affct our balance sheet with regard to the Fair Play regulations.

Really though, I'm not happy about having been dumped out of the FA as title holders in the third round, even less because it was them who dumped us out. But, if I had to choose between being dumped out this way but winning the title and winning the FA again but losing the title, it would be a no brainer what my choice would be.

Now we actually have even better chances of winning the title than we did before because we have one less competition with a larger squad than the rags.
