Its not even a foul. Kompany tackles the ball with one foot, and its the side of his foot. This is what Nani hurdles.
His left foot is forward but not used in the tackle.
From the referees angle you can understand why he has given the red card becasue he doesnt get the 5 different angles that we see in replays. But it is not a red card tackle.
Big game, Big Decision, wrong call, shame...

Ahhh but he knew it wasn't a foul hence him not even blowing UNTIL shrek jumped in.

I saw from 110 that it was a brilliant tackle and foy did too.

Referees are rewarded for making decisions. They don't even have to be the right ones.

If foy books VK and it's the wrong decision then nothing happens. If he ignores it and it turns out to be a bookable offence on a replay then he gets punished.

Then at 8.15 , nani slaps a city player in the face. In the second half Kun gets a slap in the face from Evra too . All arms nani, a liitle moaning, cheating git.

Evra is another despicable, snidey, cowardly whinging turd. They seem to have a lot of these types over at the swamp. Is it the water from the Ship Canal I wonder as there are plenty of floaters in there?

Still chin up ... League and CC.

I like you, stick around. At least until the end of the season, we'll have a great time.

Here you go, you'll love this. Check out Mancini's face after the 6th, priceless.

Thank you Goat... Now we are singing from the same hymn sheet.... As you rightly say the ref saw Kompany lunge at Nani with both feet off the ground and studs up. Had he not tackled like this he would not have got a red card.

I dont think he even lunges, its a striaght forward sliding tackle. His left foot isnt in the tackle, but from the referees position it might have looked like it was. Thats why the ref does the two hand punch signal. Its just a mistake by the referee. These things happen in football. It should get over-turned!

Rag Irani was on TS this morning talking to the Mouse with them both in agreement that it was a sending off. Both of them mentioned how if Nani hadn't leaped/hurdled the challenge that he could've been seriously injured; smashed bones and everything. They even trolled out the old 'It may have been OK 20 years' bullshit knowing that Brazil would rubbish their chat.

This is how the Rag media works, throwing in absurd statements about a nothing incident. Luckily, Brazil came up trumps and dismissed the Mouse as a Tube and then told Irani it was never a red card and the referee spoilt what was to be a cracking game. Irani tried to argue his point but on each occasion Brazil just poo-pooed his bullshit.

You're right, it's not, as he got the ball. However, I'd suggest it was done with excessive force and therefore it should have been a red card. Video seemed to stop just before the card was given though

How on fucking earth can someone get penalised for doing their job correctly. The world is well and truly fucked up.

That's a contradiction! If there was nothing wrong with the tackle it couldn't have been reckless! If fact what most pundits and experts have all seemed to agree on is the fact that Vinnie was in complete control of the tackle at all times.

If Kompany's was red and the ref stands by it, surely a consistent ref should see this tackle from behind, with high feet, as high as Aguero's knee, is a red card as well?

At the time, in the passion of the match, I was screaming for the death penalty for this rather than a red card.
Looking at it again, and not looking at either player or their shirts, it's worse than Kompany's, yet still yellow at most.
