This is a very important competition for us now. I hope to god we can at least muster 40k up on Weds night. Wont half deflate the players to come out to a half empty stadium.

Attendance will definitely be at least 40,000 I would have thought because Liverpool have got 5000 tickets and have sold out.

We have 36,000 season ticket holders plus tens of thousands Citycard/Blue members - would have thought we can sell 35,000 plus of our own tickets for a semi-final. It's only our 3 semi-final in all competitions in the last 30 years!

We definitely need to take a lead to Anfield and preferably a 2 goal lead because their record in 2nd legs at home down the years is unbelievable.
MANCINI Record at City

2011-12 League..................Pld 38 - W 28 - D 5 - L 5 - GF 93 - GA 29 - Pts 89...Finished 1st..League Champions
2012-13 League..................Pld 36 - W 22 - D 9 - L 5 - GF 62 - GA 31 - Pts 75...Finished 2nd

The two leg nature of the semi final could affect attendance. I mean we could win at home and still lose (God forbid) or vice versa. It sort of takes the edge off the game.

As a 15 year old lad I remember thinking exactly the same on 21st January 1976. City 4 Boro 0 attendance 44,426

The same season brought the following home attendances:

Scum League 46,931
Scum League Cup 50,182
Leeds 48,077
Derby 42,061
Liverpool 50,439

Although the normal attendance rocked between about 27,000 and 35,000.

Doesn't take the edge off the game at all, we need to take a lead to Anfield otherwise quite frankly we're behind the eight-ball.

Also especially given the two sides in the other semi-final with all due respect, this could be termed as a 2 legged final and so it is a massive game

Agree. We are out of the FA Cup so this is a magnificent chance to put another trophy on the board and give the whole club that boost going into the title run-in. As we are already in the semi-finals, and facing the prospect of a final against Cardiff or Palace, I would hope the club picks the strongest possible XI and goes for this.

Best to give the club a call mate - i would have thought so if you get down there early enough. Ive done it for CL games a few times and it's been fine.
