1-6. The humiliation

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

1-6. The humiliation

Postby Original Dub » Wed Jan 11, 2012 9:16 am

It was such a historic day in English football. One that will never be forgotten, not only by City fans, but by every fan who witnessed it.

I cannot imagine how horrible it must have felt for those poor fans to know that the power has shifted. To know that if ever they stand a chance of winning, they will need all the help they can get.

This was a tragedy for them and one that they cannot milk for commercial reasons.

I don't have the highlights of it and I loved the song Wonderwall put up the other day, so additions would really be appreciated! Fantastic.

Anyway, I couldn't wait until April to celebrate what I believe not only to be part three (knocking the losers out on the way to WINNING the cup is all that counts of course), but also a league win in front of these tragic losers... so I had to start this thread!

The best thing about it is it has left them scarred, which was evident in the second half on Sunday.

The worst bit about it is that some of them seem to be jumping ship and coming across to us ;)

I wish we had that team fully fit and no suspensions,we'd be in the next round of the FA Cup and taking care of business tonight.

And you also have this wonderful Fanzone-clip which really encapsulates what a humiliation it was.

http://www.skysports.com/video/inline/0,26691,13862_7261944,00.html
"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

That is excellent.

I wonder will another team ever achieve the same feat. It was an astounding victory. Breath taking.

Obviously we'll achieve it again, but another team? I doubt it.

Bob, where's that tune about scoring in fergie time etc.

Love it.

We have a 40 year old rag fan who has joined the forum twice because his team scraped past our ten men reserve side.

I reckon that 1-6 left bad bad scars.

And they think that a cheated loss would honestly hurt supporters who have gone through everything with their club?

Between this and the munich debacle they really don't know what the word "support" means do they???

Anyway, my favourite pick is the dzeko one with the 6 fingers. A very beautiful moment.

I don't know why this thread has come about but I'm with you all the way brother. The shame of losing 6-1 to the so-called noisy neighbours, and they were all guaranteed that it would never happen in their lifetime - Taggart promosied them.

And then, just when they seen the chance to jump on the bandwaggon with their version of 6-1, we snatch it away again, running them to the wire with 10 men.

Oh, the joy of being a City Fan. The delusion is just getting grander with the Rags, even Irani said this morning that if Spurs win tonight then they are in with a real shout of the title as Spurs will be level on points with City and the Rags. No, no, no Irani you Rag scum, check the table and you'll find that at this moment the Noisy Neighbours are 3 points above you. That's a win or 3 draws, not the same, nowhere near.

Oh it's good to be a Noisy Neighbour, especially when the silence from the Swamp is deafening.

All together now:

Who put the ball in United's net,
Who put the ball in United's net,
Who put the ball in United's net,
Half the fucking team did.......

Ha ha ha, crazy fool. I hope that was to roll out the barrel otherwise I'm sounding a right twat!

What about, and I've made this up:

Never felt more like singing the Blues
City win, United - Get Dry-Bummed 6-1,
Oh City, you got me singing the Blues.....

Got a nice ring to it I think, not sure if it'll catch on though ;-)

Let's not use the excuse that they beat our 'reserve team'. Stinks of small time bitterness, normally assosciated with the Rags.

You do post some bollox Mate...I will use anything at my disposal to take the piss out of them rags bastards. Small time, big time and any time...FUCK em! I am more than happy to wallow down at their level...even some way below it to have a go at them.

Banter doesn't, nor ever has, contained the space for a rational argument. They're shit and should be treated as such....and using our 10 man reserve win as an excuse?...I am using it as a hammer, not an excuse. Banging it on their fuckin heads TO ENSURE THEY KNOW THAT I KNOW THEY ARE SHITE.

Yeah but i'd hardly call it our 'reserve team'. I'd laugh at them if they used that pathetic excuse for a loss. The ref cost us that game, not team selection.

How many of our first teamers were missing for that game?

Exactly.

In the 2009 Champions League final Barca were missing Abidal, Marquez, Milito and Alves. 3 of their back 4. They needed a midfielder and a 35 year old relic to fill in. They still handed Uniteds ass on a plate.

Champions don't make excuses.
