Having watched that a few times it is quite clearly Lescotts fault for sticking his leg in. At least Fani had the sense to jump out of the way!

This.

As has been said in many other threads, the refs just fooking have it in for us.

Lol either that or one ref is a cunt and one not so much....

I think that's what it's all about. Mason tonight wasnt great but he was just letting the game roll on with not that much happening.Missed the odd foul and easily could have booked Gerard but generally no that bad. Then comes the GJ tackle and he just carried on giving as little as possible. He probably wouldnt have given even a foul for the Vinnie tackle either.

We were just unlucky on Sunday to have Foy who just over recated to that tackle and lets face it ,it wasnt as bad as GJ's tonight was it? No point in grumbling unless of course nothing is done retrospectively about it.It's seems inconceivable that nothing will be done considering the furore after the Vinnie debacle.

Agreed. Thing is, nothing will be done. And I kinda hope it's not (for the sake of football), BUT, the inconsistencies need to be raised...and answered!

I don't like to bang on but does anyone read Ted Hughes posts he has said countless times how the bad decisions go against the teams not deemed to be rag or scouse. And Johnson's quite evident 2 footed studs up challenge tonight is a prime example.

It looked bad from where I was sat but having just seen the replay for the first time it looks even worse. That tackle was much worse than Vinnie's on Sunday and was actually deserving of a red card but it will no doubt go unpunished and Johnson will get away with a horror tackle that, had it made contact, could have broken Lescott's leg

i don't actually remember the incident during the game.....but having seen it now, that is an awful tackle. It's as bad a tackle as you will see anywhere. It's only luck that keeps him from making contact with Lescott.

If Lescott was any quicker at going for the ball, he would have been hurt...and badly. I'm not too sure how anyone can say that isn't a red card. Komps was a tickle compared to this.

We have to put the tackle to bed otherwise I get a horrible feeling it will ruin our season. We played better without Kompany and 10 men than we did tonight. Champions would want to show Toure and Kompany how we can cope without them and how we can carry on staying in front of the chasing pack. 4 defeats in 8 is poor. Time for players to man up and follow Richards example and get on with it

Didn't really notice it at the game other than to say there would be no card for it. However having seen the replay it's one that makes you wince as a couple of inches across and he would have broke his leg.

Not bothered if the FA take retrospective action or not and not trying to get him banned but that type of tackle IS a red card. Two footed coming down onto the ball/man - at least careless and is excessive force and likely to endanger an opponent.

Assume Shrek and wio have tweeted the same as well since they are so involved in what the laws are

The ball was going to Lescott's right leg if it was going to his left he would be in plaster now as that's his natural side and he would have been quicker to the ball.

good tackle imo, to vilify Johnson for this would make us look like cunts. Went for the ball, got it.

Shows the fucking laughable inconsistency of what is supposed to be a professional referee's association though.

No mate according to the rules of the game it wasn't a great tackle he had left the ground with both feet studs showing. He got the ball but so did Vinny explain to me the difference coz i can't see any.

Frustrates the fuck out of me! Neither were a red card, neither were even a foul and both won the ball cleanly.. but if either were reckless, then it was Johnson's - yet our captain and most important player serves a 4 match ban, Johnson not even a yellow! Then you have Stevie G accusing Mancini of hypocrisy when it's clear that he only mentions it to highlight the inconsistency. Ridiculous.

A limp performance and the worst at home all season.. having said that, we were there for the taking and that never happened - on the strength of the performance and atmosphere, I'll take 0-1 because I'm confident we'll turn it around at Anfield - could and should've been worse.

Caveat: I fuckin' hate Adam! Buck-toothed cunt!
