Whilst kompany is out I think we look more secure playing 3 centre half and wing backs. Personally I think we should start like this until Vinny comes back.

Savic looks a lot more viable as a player in a 3 than in a CB pairing (where he would cost us the league) but starting with it ? I've got reservations.

Not sure either. It was ok last night but the scousers had already retreated to their box inviting us to play. Against the scum it was a desperate measure and again worked but is it needed against Wigan.

I would say if we don't put enough in midfield( I dont think we did last night) I think it's probably worth a try.

He looked more comfortable yesterday, but that was also because Liverpool didn't even attempt to attack in the second half. His poor positioning and physical deficiencies are still there in a a different system if we are put under pressure.

Possibly.

The best thing would be to sign a competent CB to get us over the line. Then sell Savic, Kolarov etc to pay for it in the summer. We wouldn't miss either & winning the Prem is all that mattrers short term. If we can't bring through better CB prospects than savic in the next few years, we should build a car park where we were going to put the academy.

Savic looks more comfortable, AND we get the best out of Kolarov playing with wingbacks infront of three defenders. It's a no brainer until Vinnie comes back. Maybe we can keep it as a second half thing so the opposition don't get too used to it though.

We miss one of our attacking weapons in Micah storming down the flank, though, unless Savic is moved to the right, Lecott to the middle and Clichy to the left with Kolarov and Micah as wing backs.

Nothing against continuing to use it, I just have reservations whether it would work so well if we started with it.

As a further question; if we did start with it & Richards was one of the 3 , why not use Zabba instead of Savic ?

The transfer window appears quite and we dont appear to be doing anything until Tevez can go. Agree its not ideal but if needs must and we do appear panicky at the back. Agree Zableta at right back though. Plus Ned got to be worth giving a chance to.

I agree with you about Micah, I was assuming he would be a wingback while we do this.
