The Glen Johnson 'Tackle'

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

The Johnson tackle was bad and should have been dealt with, with red. This would not have affected this game however he should now not have been available for the 2nd leg. Watching the match and watching Savic trying to defend, magnified how a poor decision like Foy's can have such a devastating effect. These mistakes do not just cost 3 points or a cup exit, they continue for the next month. Each time Vinny cannot line up, we get reminded of that decision.

However this is not what angers me the most, It is Liverpool's so called captain. How dare he interupt Our manager whilst doin a radio interview. What sort of example as captain is that? Today I hear he is also to become an Ambassador for them too. He more than Johnson should be facing the FA as to his actions on Wednesday.....Absolutely Shocking!!

Gerard has terribly bad manners.

But then again, how dare Mr Mancini talk whilst the Liverpool legend is interrupting. Maybe he didn't know who it was.

The English and Welsh FA have cocked this whole thing up. Rooney should have had a yellow for trying to get Kompany sent off but I am pretty sure the reason he didn't is because he is in Capello's England squad.

Milijas Serbia Red
Lampard England Squad Yellow
Kompany Belgium Red
Rooney England Squad No card
Johnson England Squad No card

Believe me it has been going on for years and even when Shearer was playing back in '98.

It will continue. Euro 2012 England Squad players and GB Olympic Squad players for the remainder of the season will be let off for reckless challenges. In my opinion the FA dont want English and Welsh players to turn their back on International football. They have to fill Wembley.

I remember when Shearer booted Lennon in the face, clear as day for everybody to see.......apart from the ref. He also liked to use his elbows against players to win headers, no referee would do anything in the Premiership though, only when he played for England and you had an international referee would he get pulled up on it (World Cup 98).

Good theory. Just one issue.

Gareth Barry - England - red card.

It appears being a City player trumps being an England player.

It's nothing to do with being English or playing for england, it's to do with being well connected. Sometimes the two go hand in hand but most injustice of this kind involves the traditional 'big 4' plus a few wellknown faces. It's the establishment v the rest.

As someone has said in the comments, when an Italian speaks better English than an actual Englishman it's a sad day.

Who the fuck is Gerard these days, cheeky fucking scouse twat. How fucking ignorant and got the whole thing arse-to-tit.

He's taking his Klanfield saintliness too far and needs to be brought down a peg or 2. Good to see Mancini go back at him at the end, Gerard just wanted to be heard.

Wouldn it be more class if Mancini said the Johnson tackle was nothing..? Like Komps no card at all,
instead of the complaining. A shame Lescunt didnt got a knock we could have been in the marked for some
quality partner for our captain.

Maybe if it hadn't been worthy of a red he could have said it. The fact that it was but wasn't even a free kick just about sums it up

There was a guardian journalist on the radio yesterday saying exactly the same thing. Reckoned playing for England meant you got away with a lot more and said there's a clear conflict of interest. No surprise when you have an organisation saying kicking a player off the ball for no reason should only be a two game but winning a tackle should be a three game ban

Just watching Sunday Supplement are they are now saying that Mancini is a cheat as he was trying to get Johnson sent off. Just shows how these people work, not even realising that the game had finished when he made his remarks.

I wonder if JC will be on today?

Mancini was just highlighting the inconsistency which everybody already knows about.

Gerrard should take a look at his own players reaction to Mario's "flailing arm" at Anfield before having a go at Bob.

They all know how good we are and will do anything to try and gain an advantage.
Balotelli......that's a brilliant finish.
