What the hell is the point in having players like Razak and others if they never ever get a sniff at playing in the first team?
I just do not get this at all.
Ok, we top of the table and in a bit of a glut (two games beaten on the trott, damn uses to be 15 :O).
They have not had a single chance ever since Mancini come to city.
I don't wanna disrespect bob as he's done a fantastic job at city but i don't see the point in having a youth system as good as ours yet they just end up going to other clubs on virtual free transfers?
Oh and why the fuck hasn't Hargreaves had a chance qagain?
The point in signing him was?
Edit plus 2.
The atmosphere in our ground is fucking horrid, we desperately need a standing singing area, too many glory hunters coming.

1. Yes they will, if they earn it, Mancini will not pick them over better options just to please your little mind.

2. Hargreaves will get the chance if he is fit & ready, Mancini will not pick him over better options either just to please your little mind.

3. I agree, the atmosphere in our ground is fucking horrid, if you've been to the stadium you'd know we have a standing singing area that make fuck all noise for 70% of the games.

I think you'll find spelling is part of grammar, arsey-chops!

Thanks for proving the point though...

And I know you wouldn't. It's rather a case of poor orthography.

That one wouldn't find spelling part of grammar, as opposed to you thinking so.

Haha, one loves one's lovely garnish! I've actually got a linguistic hard-on for 'orthography'! Not quite sure if you're being pedantic to be funny, seeing as not being pedantic was kind of my initial point. I'm assuming you must be, as 'And I know you wouldn't' makes no sense to me in that context.

I was taught that spelling was part of grammar, it certainly seems to come under that umbrella, as you can't construct a sentence with badly constructed words, as it will change the meaning of the words, and therefore the meaning of the sentence. Case in point being the thread title, rendered grammatically incorrect by a badly spelled word.

Now then. Anyone fancy talking about football, or is this an exercise in winding me up to point where I wanna rip a limb off someone, and beat their face through the back of their head with the bloodied stump?

Doubly annoying, is that I tried to reply to this earlier and my phone ran out of battery, and failed to post, not mention how irritating it is to post via phone in the first bloody place.

quoting is a very difficult task.

as opposed to spelling and/or grammar. which is proper easy if you've been learned right.

Wow, looks like i set the cat among the pidgeons here, what ?

I apologise fellas, i try not to make mistakes, sometimes i use the stupid apple keyboard and voila ! A badly written repost or
observation.

The only problem is , a title for a thread really grates on you when it reads incorrectly.....

I can understand that in a reply, someone might use a mish-mash of letters to make a word up. "fucl" for example. We know
what is meant, it's just not really rude, only 75% rude!

However, like "could of", instead of "could have", it sort of detracts from the sincerity of what a poster might be trying to say.

Anyway, i think city are doing their level best to build up the youth at the club. Look at the investment in the new pitches etc. I'm sure it would please Roberto and many others to see a team come from within. Now we have the financial backing, i look forward to that day when most of our players are homegrown. At the moment we odn't seem to have too many.

I'm particulary keen to see young Veseli do well, for obvious reaons. I'm sure Roberto will give youngsters a chance if the are good, i mean look at Balo, he really is only young.

Living in a foreign country takes time and not just months to acclimatise and really feel at home, so to speak.

If city are going world wide in the search for the best, not just lads from around the corner. Then we need to cut some slack with
the club and especially the manager.

Eh Goat, is that your picture? You look like one of my old muckers, if it is. Is Rick your name?

On the subject of youth, Mancini can't afford to start throwing the kids in to give them a run-out, he's trying to win the league.

Agree re yoof. Only when it's a not a risk, can we bung youth into the first team. Unless we have no first teamers left due to mental refereeing decisions.

Jeez...It's like Help the Aged in reverse on here. Don't any of you have memories, other than what you have in your pcs?...and I get accused of being senile?
Mancini is in a like it or lump it situation regarding youth, due to the spending policy of our owners and the Fair Play Rules.

If any of you remember back, it was clearly stated that because of the Fair Play Rules being imposed by UeFA and the time scale set by them, Hughes had been given his war chest all in one go and was instructed to qualify us in the CL.

At the time, it was the stated policy of spending big for a short period to get us into the CL, whilst the club would also overhaul and massively increase investment in the youth academy.

The idea being that we would be up with the big boys before the Fair Play Rules could hurt us and we would have the next generation of players developing nicely to take their place as 1st teamers when the time was right.

With the strictures put on Mancini last summer regarding the De Rossi signing and the sell Tevez before you buy policy that seems in place now, it is just possible that our big spending spree is over and future signings will only be; as and when necessary with the new rules taken into consideration before spending takes place.

Why do I remember this shit?...Or am I just dreaming it?

The problem is due to the amount that City have spent Manchini is unde pressure to deliver at least a cup each season. If we hadn't drawn either Liverpool or the Rags in the cups the likes of Razik, Suarez and others would have got a game.

I don't think he is under pressure from the owners other than to keep qualifying for the Champions League. Sure, they see trophies as a welcome sign of progress but they are in it for the long haul. The early part of the ten year plan had to be accelerated due to FFP but it is still very much a long term plan. They aren't spending a fortune on a new academy complex just to feed Oldham Athletic with loan players. The Academy has to produce the goods first though, cannot be using youth players just for the sake of it.
