somewhat odd, and mostly irrelevant from a defensive perspective imho. What it says is we start out brightly and put teams on the back foot, and if they can withstand the first 25 minutes of our onslaught then they have a chance for something, otherwise it's fucking open the flood gates.

If i were Golem or MON or even Twitchy i'd deploy my troops in front of goal with instructions to not conceded in the first 30 minutes in hopes that we get frustrated, bored or lazy and then have a go at us.

it's worked for most who've gotten something from us this season to be honest. Playing actual attack-minded football against this team is a fairly silly option for 95% of the clubs we'll face in the league or on the continent.

Spot on, it is an interesting fact in light of the point you raise. Vs Chelsea & Bayern we murdered them for first half hour then sort of gave up when we realised the ref just wasnt awarding penalties for fouls on city players.
