He was still injured, hence the early sub. Relax your animosity at least until he's fit

Animosity? That was mild disappointment. My animosity is more... well, animated.

Oh hi all and Doug H - your a star reporter fella.

I totally agree, I love the good honest hard working sensible players as much as the next man, but having an icon like Mario is far more exciting, he is the Marmite of football, love him or hate him, when he switches it on he is simply immense.

I will have to go and lie down and think about that one. But I would have said Mike Doyle is about as far removed from Mario as anyone I might have considered.

It's not a school, it's a sixth form college, not sure where the school bit come from.

Fwiw I'm getting a bit bored by Balotelli's antics now, he needs to step it up.

Ah that changes my opinion a bit then. Thought Xaverian was one of those New Lab/Con Academy things. I was thinking of Wright-Robinson College.

Agree 100%. His abilities are never the question...its his attitude and maturity. Your list of players that you have pride in is spot on. I really wish Tevez didnt turn into a wanker because his passion and effort on the field.....loved it. If Mario goes and is replaced by someone who fits the system as well or better...I will be a happy man.
In the states we have an athelete who reminds me of Mario....Terrell Owens. Great on the field, off, another story.

Did anyone hear Lawro's loathing of him oozing through the TV during the BBC coverage? At one point he said '....don't know what to expect, the sublime or the absolute stupidity....'. He clearly has a problem with us but Mario just sends him over the edge.

Worth every penny.

Oh My God.

They've got a page out of Mario stroking a cat! Not eating it, dressing it as the Queen, blowing it up, teaching it to ride a bicycle; he's stroking a fucking cat & they've filled a page with it.

More Mario madness, wish he'd done this when I was there:

http://mancunianmatters.co.uk/content/1 ... %80%99-lib

Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli has again shown his charitable side by allegedly walking into The John Rylands University Library and offering to settle overdue book fines for everyone.

Early this afternoon, students reported seeing the ill-behaved footballer walk into The University of Manchester building and attempt to settle the total bill of all late book fines.

However, staff at the library are said to have refused his light-hearted generosity and all library debts remain in place.

The library was unable to provide a statement for the event however they confirmed numerous news outlets had enquired about their latest celebrity appearance.

A few scholars requested that Balotelli extend his latest generosity stunt to paying off their student debt.

Last week the ever curious ‘Super Mario’ found his way into Rusholme’s Xaverian College and asked students there where the toilet was. He later ventured into the staff room and chatted with teachers, before driving away in his white Bentley with friends.

In October his Cheshire home was set on fire when a firework went off in the bathroom and at Christmas he walked into St John's Church, Chorlton, for midnight mass and put £200 into the collection tin.

Over New Year there were rumours circulating that the footballer had checked in 24 homeless people to The Hilton hotel in Manchester. It has also been reported that he drove around handing money to homeless people, although this was denied by Manchester City.

These stories of Mario turning up at restaurants, petrol stations etc and offering to pay for everyone are getting tiresome cos they are obviously made up by lazy journalists who just change the location and tell the same story
