I think today perfectly demonstrated the importance of supporting your team until the end of the game.

In many games gone by, the stands would have been half empty with 5-10 minutes to go. Today the vast majority or people stayed, and we got our reward.

I have heard all the arguments about we pay our money so we will leave when we want, blah blah blah but it must have an affect on the players when the ground is half empty.

Would they have put so much effort into going forward in the dying stages of the game today if there had only been 15000 left in the ground? I doubt it very much.

Absolute nobs, its a shame the club cannot have the turnstyles on reverse so people have to swipe out, that way these cunts can be accounted for and taken off the eligibility list when buying tickets for finals.

The guy next to me is a season ticket holder with his Mrs.
The board went up with how much added time, and she said "Come on then, lets get going." as she usually does, and he usually complies and they leave.
Yesterday he questioned her and had a mini argument about staying as it was so close. Luckily for him they stayed, after we won the penalty, waiting for it to be taken, turned and said "Bet you're glad you stayed now!"

I've said in this thread I don't leave early, I don't think anyone should, but understand they do. However I cannot comprehend how anyone would leave or want to leave with the game so tight. Really does boggle the mind.

Strange analagy I know, but I'm bored of my usual one...

Imagine it's your Son'a/Daughter's first Christmas Nativity Play at school, you want to go along to show your support to your spawn, but then you leave ten minutes before the big finale, encore and final bow etc.... What must your child think when they come out and bow to thank the crowd and they can't see your face anywhere.... not only have you missed the big finale, but your child is gutted to learn that their father/mother hasn't stayed to see the end of the show, purely because they want to get out of the car park 10 minutes before everyone else!!!!

I said to my mate next to me. I can't believe people are leaving early when its 2-2 in a game like this!!!

Now people can do whatever they want to do, so I won't say they're wrong, but I wouldnt do it! I pay my money, and I want to get my moneys worth, and I want to see as much of the match as is humanly possible!

I'd hate to think how I would feel if I had left early and then found out that I had missed possible our most important goal of the season, just because I wanted to get home 10 minutes quicker than I otherwise would do!

Whilst I agree with this and always stay til the end, everyone could easily have stayed to watch a heartbreaking defeat if Defoe were any good.

That said, the atmosphere at the end and the way everyone stuck around to clap the team off should have been a decent reminder to the early darts that this is what they're missing.

Thought this deserves resurrecting after THE match. (not that I'm saying anyone did 'cos I wasn't watching the crowd)

but

NEVER leave before the end... you have been warned!

I don't think many left. I saw a few go up but it was possibly for a piss or to kick things because a lot came back whilst it was still 1-2.

Was there a mid 20s lad arguing with police then climbing over the second tier of the walk way?
