Obviously, we've seen Scholes in action & decided we need something similar; Barry & DeJong are too quick.

Bad jokes aside, the only reason I could see for this is an attempt to solve the problem some of us have discussed on here; the defenders being left with the ball & nobody from Midfield taking responsibility to build our passing game. If true, this puts a huge question mark against some of our established midfielders imo, especially Nige.

The danger is that, like Scholes, he gets nailed when on the ball.

I get the feeling everybody is pretty underwhelmed by this news.

I really don't get this transfer. First of all, Hargreaves had been injury free since he came here, so i don't see why he can be used. Bob can use the big lads away and Hargreaves in lower games at home and beside that, why now? In 12 days Yaya will be back so why is this player brought now?
Bob had him at Inter, he brought him there and after he went, Pizzaro was sold to Roma.

Roma general director Franco Baldini confirmed: "For our transfer market, I would say that there will be no surprises, we're just trying to close with City for (David) Pizarro.

"We are looking at a loan, we hope to reach an agreement by tonight."

Hope Pizarro will come back at his high levels when Luciano Spalletti was coach of Giallorossi! Full of energy and very good sense of position, he could be an ideal central mdfielder for us!
From Torino, Italia to Manchester, Lancashire this City is always our City!

If you read Mr Higginbotham's training reports you will know that Hargreaves is far from being injury free...

I did read them, but i still think he can manage to play 60 minutes (and play well) with QPR, Fulham, etc. If not, why still keep him and most important, why still pay him?

I guess whats left is personal terms.

The 32-year-old has made just seven league appearances for Roma this season and has already passed a medical in the Italian capital.

Why keep him? Because we have a contract? Why pay him? My understanding is that we don't pay him a lot unless he plays but whether we do or don't, we have a contract!

guess we have to have a little faith in Bob, and see how it pans out before we go mental.

I don't care if we sign Nigel Pivaro as long as he plays well and does a good job.

I don't give a mind us signing him at all provided that, if he comes on and looks like Scholes' grandad, he doesn't play him anymore afterwards. If he does the job then great, it could be a stroke of genius.
