guess we have to have a little faith in Bob, and see how it pans out before we go mental.

I don't care if we sign Nigel Pivaro as long as he plays well and does a good job.

Do we really need to go mental over loan signings, ever? Maybe Bob needs a new Vieira in the dressing room, a trusted pair of eyes and ears?

If we need a 32yrr old Chilean who has played 7 games this season to bolster our midfield, fine I had not clocked room on our bench for another small skillfull midfielder I am sorry, bowing as I type to get my head around it I was thinking more defender or firepower.
Silly me Loan deal, I am so excited.

Col pal, you aren't 7 years old and it isn't Christmas!

Col pal? Does he have a ickle cough and trouble sleeping? ;)

Tbf I was referring to to a possible future scenario in which this lad fails to do the business, yet is persistantly played by the manager. I don't expect it to happen at all. So much so, that if it did, it would drive me 'mental'!

He'd better have pretty good English if his main attribute is to be a Vieira-like influence. Has Bobert actually said owt about this guy?

LIke most on here it would seem, I am a littl e non-plussed by this foray in to the transfer market. Always keen to be proved wrong on stuff like this though....

He'll maybe struggle in the higher tempo games, yes, but against teams who are content to sit back and frustrate us, a bit like Everton would be if we were at CoMS tonight, he'd be perfect. He'd keep the game ticking over and give us options.

He's a great bit of business if he signs, and risk free too.

It's statistically noticeable that our ball retention and overral possession statistics have fallen considerably since Yaya has left. We're not controlling the ball anywhere near as much. We need to get that back, cos it's when we're at our best. Pizarro could help us do this.

Spot on. Couldn't have said it any better sir!

Finally, we sign a player that replaces Petrov and looks older than me......I like him already.
....and a ready made target for Piccs....who could ask for more?

If he's an understudy for Yaya, it could be a good move. We don't know what condition Yaya will return from Africa in and as we approach the sharp end and the pressure ramps up, we will have plenty of Euro League midweek games.

We'll just have to sit back and reserve judgement when we get to see him in action.

For those thinking he's signing as another Vieira....he almost definitely isn't in my opinion. He's not known for being some inspirational leader or anything. Fairly temperamental if anything, but not in a terrible way. Just had a few disagreements, but then again so do most players. He definitely doesn't have the same aura as Vieira does. If he signs he's signing to be a squad player, not a future coach. Also, he's only 32. People are acting like he's 36 or something. Deep lying playmakers don't need to be 25 to be effective.

Jon RM is IMHO pissed off with the Tevez saga and the club, his hands look to have been tied over monies out, that said this signing is IMHO a little bit out of the left side, For me,,, get to Jan top, signings need to be ready to go and slot in, 7 games in 10 months seems a lttle under done to me. Let's see, Vieira No chance but wish him well.

This is probably true but it's a terrible indictment of all our remaining midfield players. They are all internationals & should have the balls & composure to do that easily without us signing a 32 year old to do it for them. Suggests they are not good enough imo.

Fair enough.

I think I may have misread earlier that he played a more advanced role.

Best news of the day for me is that Bridge is away from our training ground for the rest of the season!

and at least Pizzaro's highlight video has someone like the Gypsy Kings instead of a lil wayne remix at full volume. That counts for something right?

Because we were hoping to sell Tevez and use the money to buy Yaya's backup. We haven't sold Tevez so we have gone for a cheap loan instead!

Think it was mentioned once before, but Roberto previously worked with Pizarro at Inter, so he should be able to slot into our way of operating quite quickly. They both know what to expect from each other (with a few alterations to the City way).

But our control/dominance of the midfield has vanished since Yaya left, and having a backup to hold onto possession would be a great steal. I like that we're going after players to fir out system rather than splashing out on the latest and greatest hyped up by the media. Shows we have a plan and the discipline to execute on it.
