As for those who say that he doesn't run or try enough, they should know that thats the way he plays. He has played similarly in bundesliga and was the top scorer. why? Because he was the target man who was getting balls constantly. In city the ball goes through every player, even hart before it reaches one of the strikers. This is the problem, we complicate things for no reason, just give him some through balls/crosses and he will use them. Aguero was better than dzeko last night, and that is because the way city plays is good for him, and i really admire the player. But Dzeko is not being used at his best and that is what frustrates him on the pitch I believe. Clichy can't cross for shit, neither Richards can. Why do you think kolarov gets on to play on the left side? Too bad Mancini subbed him in70th minute expecting he will do something when there is 11 defenders of Everton. However to sum this up, dzeko isnt at his best and frustrates me also and many fans, but he also isn't used the way he should and if it continues like this i think its better for him to leave to SerieA or Spanish league.

Cheers

When I watched him in the Bundesliga almost every time I saw him, I thought he was shit, even when he scored, because he was too casual. I missed a lot of his best games I think, but I still saw him quite a lot & I thought he looked like someone who would have a problem in the Premier League. When I saw him in the Champion's Lg against the rags, I thought he was really really shit even thouigh he scored; he should have had 5. His problem isn't scoring though, it's whether he helps the team enough even when he does score or whether, without him, someone else would score anyway as the team would play better.

I think he has tremendous ability. I don't buy this stuff where people say he has no first touch, I think he has a fantastic 1st touch but half the time is poncing about, diving, or trying to do something too clever, so loses the ball.

If he's been given the chance to play in the Prem, imo he should work his balls off to make the best of it. You don't cross to a bloke who is invisible & a wimp. If he got stuck in more, he would get better service. Do you think Shearer would stand about looking miserable if he wasn't getting the passes ? He'd go apeshit & demand the service. When it came, he'd fight like fuck to get on the end of it. If Dzeko does that, imo he will have no problem succeeding in the Prem. If he can't be arsed, he should go.

There was a home game recently where Silva on several occasions chose not to pass to him when he was by far the best positioned player to recieve the ball. For anyone else it could have been poor vision, but for Silva to intentionally choose not to pass to him is concerning

yeppp, i don't think it was anything personal though, just lack of confidence in dzeko, I think dzeko gets frustrated in the game for not getting the service which results in poor performance and lack of will.

His striking relationship with Aguero is none existent. Both often ignore each other. At least you could see Bob trying to sort it out with the pair of them when that moron handcuffed himself to the goal post.

at this point, herman can't be trusted off OR on the pitch. i would bet money he deliberately missed that penalty against wigan in sept. play him and he will fuck us - guaranteed.

Tevez is the kind of player we would need to have a substitute "in hand" for if City ever played him again. At the first sign that he was trying to get himself sent off in order to reduce us to ten men, was missing the goal on purpose, or was trying to score an own goal he would have to be "Johnson-ed" (or do I mean "Savic-ed"?) - a substitute substituted. Seriously, I wouldn't put anything past him.

I think that you do Carlos a gross disservice. Though nowhere near as big a disservice as he has done us.
Put Carlos in a football shirt of any colour and he knows only 1 way to play...and we have benefitted from that over the last couple of seasons.

There has never been a problem with him on the pitch...the problem was getting him on in the 1st place.

I'm addicted to conspiracies, John!

Hmmm, talking of which. I wonder how tempting it would be for a United supporter based in the Balkans to masquerade as a City fan? There could be all sorts of message board based laughs to be had.

you're ignoring the fact that his effort level fucking plummeted after his first transfer request. Other than the wonder-goal against Sunderland (or was it Stoke?), can you remember him giving us a single decent performance since Christmas 2010??

This isn't about Aguero. Yes, he was fucking appalling too. Perhaps worse if we're honest. But the truth is, Dzeko plays with NO heart whatsoever. That is cheating us. I'd take Andy Carroll in his place.

I said a while back, when people were having a go at him, that I didn't think Dzeko was any good as a lone striker and needed a partner up front with him...........................I suppose my football analysis is a shite as our Edin.

Unfortunately we seem to have gone back to playing how we did last season. Over-passing and letting the opposition get everyone back behind the ball.
However, even if we were getting quality quality crosses into the box regularly Dzeko isn't the man for the job. Poor in the air and his movement and anticipation are shit.
He has been crap since he had his hissy fit in Munich, and to me that gave Tevez the opportunity to throw his own strop.

I spoke to some scouse 1 and 2 fans today, they all thought Dzeko was quite good against them and a handful. I commented that they must have been watching a different game, but both stood by what they said.

Piss taking bastards?

Dzeko and Aguero had a very good partnership at the start of the season.

If the better players have stopped trusting Dzeko with the ball then there is only one outcome for him. Sell.

check bundesliga wolfsburg highlights from 2009-10 season. 90% of goals were from crosses

I remember watching him score a hatrick live against west brom...

Oh and a nice few goals in our charge for the fa cup.

This does crop up a fair bit.

I hate the little fucker. Half for what he is doing and half for what he could be doing for us now.

What a player.

That free kick was his 2nd goal of the season contender that night as well. Moot point now tho.

Dzeko is not a problem, Mancini and his tactics are. He's not a type of player that will take the ball from 30-40 yards away, dribble through opposition and score, that's what this current tactic is making him do, and he's simply not capable of it. Feed him a through ball, he'll know what to do (as proven), or play him more inside the box. There were plenty of clear chances for him this season (especially when Tevez was playing) and the other players just won't pass ball to him. You might say it's because "he's slow, doesn't have a great ball handling, messes up our attacks" etc. but that's not the case, the case is that everybody wants to score n wants their moment of fame. When the team should be above everything. Doesn't matter who scores as long as the win that's needed is there. Still even though he has been playing poorly, and has been a substitute for a while, statistically he's 9th striker in Europe. Scoring 21 goals in 50 matches is not bad either.

He does need to make his decisions faster (in Germany he had more time to do so), be more physical, and put way more effort in. Right now he looks like he's lost out there, but then again he's never facing the goal, and they pass to him when he has 3 defenders around him.............

Even if he does leave City, I hope he stays in premiership, and plays for a team and manager that knows how to use his abilities to it's fullest potential. Then all of the people who doubted him will take their words back.

The criticism of Dzeko isnt a criticism of the guys talent as he clearly can be an effective player in a team thats built around his capabilities.

Ours isnt. Our way of playing makes him look clumsy, even at his best. He thrives on crosses. Clichy provides most of our crosses, usually when an easy inside pass isnt on. They are usually rubbish.

The problem is that he puts in half hearted performance all the time these days. On Monday there was no effort. There isnt a person in the world who could watch that game and not see it. When we are winning, its overlooked, when we are losing, its inexcusable.

The man doesnt have the heart for the fight, his performances over the last 3 months have been nothing short of embarrasing. He's not helping the team. He constantly gives the ball away, putting us back under pressure. Bar the 2 goals he's scored since October and the fact that he headed 2 corners away on Monday, I cant think of a single other redeeming aspect of his game.

I could forgive him for being shit almost if he just fucking tried. If he just put some effort in and worked hard for the team. His performance levels recently have been up there with Samaras's at his worst. He was a pussy, and so is Dzeko. Man up for fucks sake Edin.
