Ours isnt. Our way of playing makes him look clumsy, even at his best. He thrives on crosses. Clichy provides most of our crosses, usually when an easy inside pass isnt on. They are usually rubbish.

The problem is that he puts in half hearted performance all the time these days. On Monday there was no effort. There isnt a person in the world who could watch that game and not see it. When we are winning, its overlooked, when we are losing, its inexcusable.

The man doesnt have the heart for the fight, his performances over the last 3 months have been nothing short of embarrasing. He's not helping the team. He constantly gives the ball away, putting us back under pressure. Bar the 2 goals he's scored since October and the fact that he headed 2 corners away on Monday, I cant think of a single other redeeming aspect of his game.

I could forgive him for being shit almost if he just fucking tried. If he just put some effort in and worked hard for the team. His performance levels recently have been up there with Samaras's at his worst. He was a pussy, and so is Dzeko. Man up for fucks sake Edin.

u are so smart i love u :* :)

Feed him a through ball, he'll know what to do (as proven), or play him more inside the box. There were plenty of clear chances for him this season (especially when Tevez was playing) and the other players just won't pass ball to him. You might say it's because "he's slow, doesn't have a great ball handling, messes up our attacks" etc. but that's not the case, the case is that everybody wants to score n wants their moment of fame. When the team should be above everything. Doesn't matter who scores as long as the win that's needed is there. Still even though he has been playing poorly, and has been a substitute for a while, statistically he's 9th striker in Europe. Scoring 21 goals in 50 matches is not bad either.

He does need to make his decisions faster (in Germany he had more time to do so), be more physical, and put way more effort in. Right now he looks like he's lost out there, but then again he's never facing the goal, and they pass to him when he has 3 defenders around him.............

Even if he does leave City, I hope he stays in premiership, and plays for a team and manager that knows how to use his abilities to it's fullest potential. Then all of the people who doubted him will take their words back.

Mate, teams are playing deep against us and defending in numbers, so we have to pass to him with defenders around him or not pass to him at all. There are no tactics that make the defenders go away. We need a player that can cope when surrounded by defenders, As you admit yourself, Dzeko is too slow, too soft and is lost. I'd disagree with Grob that he is as bad as the walking dead Greek yet but he is getting there.

I think we would struggle to spot the difference if we switched Dzeko to to 05 to 07 squad and brought Gorgeous back to fill his vacated spot in this seasons squad.

Except for the hair of course.

With Balotelli banned for 4 games he has had the chance to establish himself in the team. You'd think he'd be knocking his pan out but he looks like he cant give a toss

kinkylola wrote:think the problem with dzeko, which i mentioned in the match thread, is that too often, he is just on the same channel as the rest of our team. He doesn't play well with any of our other strikers, and doesn't move the way that dave and nasri need him to when they need him to do it. Aguero and Balotelli are both much better in this regard. As for holding the ball up and bringing other players into play, guidetti seems to do that well, then he busts his ass to get back up top and make a commotion.

Sometimes it seems to me that dzeko doesn't try hard enough to occupy a defender. I didn't see him given a defender trouble once last night, when IMO, we should have been hassling them all game.

In the future, if we are going to rotate aguero (not recommended unless he is injured or overly tired) I would play dzeko up top, with dave directly behind him, nasri on the right and AJ on the left ... then we might see him able to play the game he likes to play. This is also assuming that balo is handed the lifetime ban that the FA would like to impose.

Best post of the thread. All I would add to this is that he should put a move on a defender before shooting rather than just shooting on sight.

I think he has a big future with City. I don't think he's mentally established himself yet. He will get there but he needs a run of goals. Starting this weekend please.

PALUS & Co,

I'm going to write this because I think you seem decent enough and your heart is in the right place.

I think most City fans on here appreciate that you're really passionate about your country and its hero, in the same way we are passionate about our club. By all means, come on here and give reasons why you think certain City fans are wrong in criticising Dzeko. It's a football forum and that is what it is essentially here for.

But unlike most people on here, you will probably never have the unfortunate experience of going away to Macclesfield and only winning by a late Shaun Goater goal or losing to Stockport County at home. You'll never risk getting arrested by trying to sneak in to Wigan's away end at their old ground to cheer City on trying to get to the Play-off Final. You won't have to go in to school as a kid on a Monday morning and have every single one of your rag loving mates take the piss out of you.
You won't cry your eyes out when they win their first major trophy in 30+ years.

So with all that said, by all means come on here and discuss why you think some fans are wrong to give their opinion on Dzeko's performance. But as a 26 year old who's seen players like Paul Dickov, Danny Tiatto, Jamie Pollock, Andy Morrison, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Micah Richards some of them who aren't the most gifted players but they'd run through a brick wall to play football at the time of playing for City and give 110%, don't complain when some City fans don't think he's putting the effort in.

Personally, I think he's still finding his feet in the Premiership. It is his first FULL season lets not forget and he will still be learning. There's no doubting that he's a quality player, goals against United in the charity sheild and OT, 4th against Spurs, goal away at QPR. Those goals proved he doesn't just need crosses to be thrown in to the box, he has got the ability to do it on his own as well. But when we see that he doesn't look like he's giving 110% we will say it. We wouldn't be good fans if we didn't.

You probably don't know, but we had a player called Shaun Goater. When he first pulled on a City shirt most fans thought he was useless. But he worked hard and became a City Legend.

I personally hope Dzeko pulls it out of the bag and is our star man who wins us the league with his goals towards the end of the season. There's not a player I'd love more than him to 'come good' in a way. But at the same time you've got to realise that as City fans who've been through more ups and downs than a rollercoaster we ARE going to give our opinion on players that we think aren't playing well.

Ok hahaha first how moch u think i im old like 12 never see defet all i see is defet all my life and i probobly have couse moch more problems in,y carear us a fun then u , u probobly think ej there in Bosnia there is no clubs , go litlle on net se game Široki brijeg Sarajevo and se wats relly war on and araund the stadium , so dont petronise me go look wath BHF do all over the Europe i dont know how is to loose , funy but abaut Edin i dont love him that much how much u making the guy who isint world star player like Messi but it is in first 30 strikers in world constantly shit and its not true that he is not fight u see he is not use to a club where evrybody shoot or dont wont to pass and the city play has how to say oponets know how City plays its time to chenge dhort pass trugth midle and Kun is out of form Ballo is makin problems and often hes also play with no spirit but u only hit Edin and probobly becose of me and few more guys hes become unpopular u see in Bosnia if u play for the title u give the spirit to the players saying uck it was not good this time but common we are the best we will win next one , here even when u win by 1 0 u mouning and always same players , Kun have imunity Ballo can shoot two City funs he will be fine ,EDplay game poor hes emmberising worse then Carol so i would love u to change Edin with Carol i tink Liverpool would agree and i can watch the game with some peace not counting evry time he do somthing wrong becose i know if he dont score tomorow is a thread abaut him , and he score 16 goals at half of season , its litlle funy , but ok i agree hes shit , sell him and i dont know wath is defet or funs or firms i agree thenks.

Mate, listen here.

Remember Visoko (your home town club) won the cup in 96/97. Well, people in Visoko still talk about that. Now the team is in the third league, do people still go to watch them? Do they fuck. There are crowds of under 200 this season, and most of those are friends and family of the players, or club patrons. Well, when City were in the third league, there were crowds of 28,000+ at every game. That's more than went to watch Bosnia v Portugal. And it had been longer since City had won a trophy (23 years) than it is for Visoko (14 years). If and when they get back into the Bosnian Prem, then crowds will swell again. That just doesn't happen so dramatically in Britain.

Supporting football in Britain is TOTALLY different to in ex-Yugoslavia. You've given an example of Siroki vs Sarajevo- this is all about Nationalism and right-wing politics, not football. Millwall (and possibly Chelsea) aside, there is no English club whose violence is based on anything apart from the football itself. And nobody here is proud of this violence any more. When I explained to you about me caring more about the Premier League than the Champions League, you thought I was lying. Well, look at the general attitude on here, and you'll see I'm not the only one. We just think differently about the sport, and support our teams in different ways to Eastern Europeans and people from the Balkans.

Also, BHF don't really make it into the media abroad in the same way as they do in Bosnia. Fair enough, when they had an agenda with the Federation, they made headlines (especially in countries with large diaspora populations). But now that the organisation is full of children who've joined, basically, to 'have a fight', they are pretty insignificant. Most of the original/older members have left, and the youngsters don't care about the choreography, just about winding up/fighting with the opposition fans. The only people who care about that kind of thing are Russians and Ukrainians these days. Aris Salonika put on a better show against us than BHF ever have.
