Dzeko

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

love the fact that some stooges more.or less.reveal that they spend games trying to find errors in his game and when he plays really well feel forced to admit "he made only couple of mistakes"

Best supporters in the land and all the world. Absolutely.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I agree with you on that. I have concerns about him being suited to games where we need to break down 10 man defences but he is what he is and, like all players, not everything will come off. What player doesn't make mistakes? Even the best do and even on their good days.

I thought he played well yesterday. Held the ball up, moved in to space, got in to goal scoring chances, and at one point he had two defenders on him and brought the ball down really well to show he HAS a decent first touch and then turned both defenders. He's a typical confidence player.

I was glad to see him and Sergio working hard for each other as well.

I agree. He was better. There is still some way to go though.

Perhaps he read my post.

I was pretty much ready to write him off.
But credit where it's due, he played very well against Fulham, looked like he was up for it.

This thread is a fucking stain on this site.....10 fucking pages mostly slating off one of the top scorers in the premiership and unlike that fuckign ape man from the Munich's..not one of his goals is a penalty.

I can handle one or 2 slagging s off as far as his effort was concerned is some matches..but to slag him off continuously....shocking man.

Wow, I for once agree with you, Carl. Let's start applying the same attitude in regards to Lescott as well!

No...although he had his best game for us the other day....I saw him take on players and pass the ball forwards plenty of times....I think the snow blinding everyone helped in his decision making.

He looked more inspired to work hard I thought. Might have had something to do with the space Fulham allowed us and how poor they were but fair play for exploiting it Edin and putting some effort in. He got his reward for working harder with a goal. Theres a lesson there somewhere so hopefully he's learnt it.

Still, not entirely convinced the above will be occuring the next time we are under pressure

I find it amazing that you continue to defend Dzeko despite some atrocious performances from him this season yet you constantly slag off Lescott who has played very well this season

Not been massively impressed with him recently, but i do like him, and i feel that he definitely has a place here.

He's one of the league's top scorers which i dont think can be overlooked, even with the players around him putting the ball in the right place for him, or the fact that his goals seemed to come early on in the season. Shows how times have changed when a City player can be one of the top scorers in the league but still receive a lot of criticism from fans.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's right to demand so much from our players now, i dont agree with settling for mediocrity just because we were shit in a previous life, but Dzeko has come in for quite a bashing whilst other players (also players not at City) who (imo) have made less of an impact/scored less goals have been praised to the heavens. (im not saying goals are everything, but they seem to help now and again).

He's definitely a confidence player, and just because he's not on any forums/in the stands, doesnt mean that he's unaware of all the things being said. I think we definitely need to get behind him a bit more.

I often feel there is a lot of communication lost between him and Aguero, but again, there seemed to be a breakthrough against Fulham. Thought his hold up play on Saturday was brilliant, as was his work rate. Turned a few players inside out, good strength and a nicely taken goal.

Keep it up Edin!

jesus...yr expert at that. Chief Deflection Officer CARL.

Since when are you so soft with someone chesting up to you and telling you your opinions suck?

Are you on some kind of new herbal/vitamin regimen?

cheers

p.s. Jayko was fine this weekend. For a split second it was as if he knew other players on the squad and trained with them all week as well. We'll need more of that, so hope he's been uplifted. Plus he probably got like 1M+ emails/FB posts/tweets or something from the Balkans big upping his work, so that should help i'd hope.

cheers
