MATCH OFFICIALS

Postby john68 » Fri Feb 10, 2012 4:12 pm

Marwood has said it, Vieira has said it, many of us think it but have we tested it?....Ref's are bent, or are they?

There are only 14 games to go and we are reaching the business end of the season. Teams know what they need to do and if they are really bent in anyone's favour, the refs also know what they need to do to push whatever agenda they might have.

Thought it may be a useful excercise to log the games and refs until the end of the season and add comments and notes as we move through each round....You never know what patterns, if any, might arise. It should however give us a clearer picture than blind opinion and gut instinct...here goes.

ROUND 25
SATURDAY
The Rags v L'Pool......Ref: DOWD, Ass Refs: BENNETT, GARRETT, 4th Off: TAYLOR.
B''Burn v QPR...........DEAN, BURT, RICHARDSON, ELTRINGHAM.
Bolton v Wigan........WEBB, KIRKUP, POLLOCK, CLATTENBURG.
Everton v Chelsea.....JONES, BESWICK, TURNER, OLIVER.
Fulham v Stoke........FOY, CANN,GOSLING, FRIEND.
S'Land v Arsenal.......SWARBRICK, BANKES, WEST, MATHIESON.
Swansea v Norwich....ATKINSON, GANFIELD, BECK, GIBBS.
Spurs v N'Castle.......MARRINER, LEDGER, MASSEY, PROBERT.
SUNDAY
Wolves v WBA.........MASON, FLYNN, McDONOUGH, JONES.
Villa v CITY............OLIVER, MULLARKEY, RICHARDS, WEBB.

Comments:

Oliver seems to quite highly regarded by his peers and it is his 1st City League game and 4th Villa game of the season.

Wonder why Web has been consigned to the Bolton-Wigan game when the Scum are playing at the Swamp against Liverpuddle and, obviously, need him there for the push for the League title.

Moreover, at the Bolton game, Webb and Clattenberg are in the same refereeing line-up; what an obscene and unholy alliance that is.

Maybe Webb is on covert duties this weekend as our 4th offical the following day. Let's see how they perform amd what Earth shattering and game changing decisions they may make....if any.

Hopefully we can keep this going on a weekly basis.

Its a great idea John.

Shame we didn't do it from dec, but most of us could see what was happening.

This should help the smarmy retards who keep trying to tell us we're imagining things, even though our club ambassador has acknowleged we've been badly treated to date.

FIFA are funding and have in place somrthing that is called an Early Warning System which monitors any irregular betting patterns.I think if anybody could find out the information they gather it would make things clearer.I think they would have let people know if they had gained any evidence.

Dowd's good for a red card tomorrow. I can just see him shaking his head, lips puckered up like he's just licked piss off nettles, pulling the red card out , stretching his arm out high and sending Suarez for an early bath !

I wish I had thought of it years ago Dub, but sometimes, genius takes it time to shine through (as you will understand Mate).

The idea came when I stumbled across a refereeing site and read some of the comments from people on there who obviously know far more than most of us about match officials and officiating. Some of their comments were quite enlightening and over the weeks, I'll add some of the more relevent ones on here.

I am really going to try to keep an open mind on this. I don't think there's anything to be gained by adopting a preconceived opinion of "they're all bent." We will learn nothing from that.

We shall see what we shall see.....(inluding LAHAD running the line at WHL.)

The FIFA early warning system only applies to those companies who are legit Mate. The illegal gambling industry is global and massive and their tentacles reach into all corners of the World. FIFA have no power or control over them whatsoever.

The thing is that for me it is not only FIFA who have no power or contol over these illegal syndicates, nobody anywhere can do anything about them. They are to well hidden and untraceable.

for those that do not instantly recognise Dowd I will remind you.................

He was the 4th official at the 4 - 3 derby game when Owen scored in extra extra time - remember him? the one that was caught in a clip having a massive laugh-in on the touch-line with baconface just after owen scored - not over-familiar at all? - probably totally independent and professional??

They probably had to be in the Manchester area at lunchtime for a briefing on upcoming games and it was the only game then that they could get to in time

Rag Hater,
Some years ago, the illegal economy (drugs, crime etc) constituted approx 8% of the street economy of the USA. If the US Government ever manged to stop it, the US economy would spiral downwards. The USA has a massive economy.
Consider the amount of cash that similar activity puts into the economies of poorer nations and never forget those countries with inatelty corrupt gevernance. Without that illegal money feeding into their coffers, many would simply implode and Governments would fail and fall.
These syndicates play a major but illegal role in some economies and FIFA haven't a cat in hell's chance of doing Jack Shit to stop it.

Apart from the cabaret at the swamp and the antics of the racists and prima donnas, who had their egos punctured, It seems to have been a quiet day at the office for the officials in the Prem.

Unless anyone knows differently, there was only one major decision of a game changing nature.

Atkinson awarded Swansea a penalty but though I am logging it down, there has been nothing to suggest it was contentious.

Roll on the red cards, subsequent bans, penalties and dodgy decisions at Villa. This good behaviour just ain't good enough.

It's all about timing mate. We, and a few others, have had some horrendous decisions that have brought the referee's integrity into question and now is not the time to compound the issue. They've got to be seen to be getting it right at the moment and as the world is watching the amount of talk regarding the referee's is far out-weighing what is actually happening between the teams.

One thing that has to be taken into consideration is that since the Vince incident the ref's association have now had to send out a video to all clubs telling them what will not be accepted, ie. that's why we seen some dubious reds last week compared to weeks before. This came about because of the confusion after the Vince incident and subsequent non-punishment of graver incidents. It became an inherent problem that provoked an unprecendented reaction with the head of the association coming out on various channels telling all and sundry that they were doing the job properly. This alone says that they are aware that they are not coming across well.

I don't envisage any serious issues tomorrow as they will be highlighted to the max. Not by Sky, not by the Rag loving media, but by the various fanzones, and in particular, City themselves.

at the risk of distracting a very worthwhile thread - the only thing I saw was an 'arguably' very good decision by Dowd with regard the tackle by camelface when Suarez was through - he did really well to see the very slightest of touches (because the replays where not conclusive) that camelface got on the ball – so a big well done to him......

there is a part of me thinking about what would have happened had that been RRRRROOOOOOney going through and Kompany had made the challenge – but that is conjecture and I already feel embarrassed to raise such a doubt
