It's a bit like the end of Sven's season mate. If we'd had that season's results in reverse order then people would have been happy with the finish and the direction we were going. But many were fed up because they were seeing regression before their eyes. The first quarter of this season has been similar. Difference is, Hughes has the time and resources to steer us back on track. Hopefully...

I wish I could be so contented with the substandard and mediocrity but I support a club that have spent ove £200m in two seasons and they dont look a fraction of the pricetag due to lack of organisation and motivation.

Position I am happy yes, performances I am not happy no, we still have Liverpool and Chelsea to come before xmas, if we can win the easy matches we'll get anihilated against class. The we all start again after xmas and have 4 top sides to play and a bag load of poor sides to draw against. My opinion is not based on 9 games but 47!!

agreed and I think he will steer us back. Another importasnt factor is that we have only played 4 out of 10 games at home and we have two "gimmee" home matches coming up in Burnley and Hull.
If we can reach the turn of the year averaging 2 points a match I shall be well chuffed and with a bit of tweaking in Jan maybe we can push on for a top 4 slot and who knows maybe even a wembley appearance......

Partnerships within the team are taking longer to yield than the more optimistic of us would have liked and perhaps too many players consider themselves to be on the fringe and are trying to do more complicated things than they are really capable of just to create the right impression.

Liverpool would swap positions with us in a heartbeat.

jesus! We were hanging near relegation zone last christmas. And you are using that as measure??? Ok, I give you that, after spending 250m we aren't going to be in relegation trouble anymore.

Age old argument is that 'anyone can win championship with money'. That was said when Mourinho was in Chelsea and did it for less money and it was said when Blackburn won the title. It's fair to say that Hughes is proving that this simply isn't the case. He has however proved that you will not get relegated if you have enough money to spend. I subscribe to that now and you have proved me wrong.

The difference with the so called "Money" these days is there are other teams with Money as well. It will be difficult to wrestle the title away from the rags or Chelsea as they have spent big and have had their squad together for quite some time and they just add players to it to keep improving it, rather than buying in bulk which is what we had to do.

Why do people think that all of our players should know each others games when they have only had 10 league games together and we have not been able to field our best 11 yet as we have had a shit load of injuries. We have not been able to field a consistent 11 players week in and week out, yet we are doing very well in the league and the cup.

Some people will search for all the possible negativity they can muster and it makes them look very silly indeed at this moment in time. To try and slate the team for their position after 10 games and to even think about the title is ludicrous, even for this place.

I think things need to be addressed.
Teams are hungrier than us to get the points, thats our problem.
Too many times their was a loose ball in the area which I thought we could have got to, but Birmingham we're always more hungry to clear it than we were to put it in the net. Main culprits for this were Tevez, Santa and Barry. Barry just seems to plod around the pitch without any urgency. Its very frustating to watch. Is this the Manager's fault? I don't know. But summat needs to be done, so many times yesterday players were making the wrong descision. Why the fuck the defence kept hoofing it up to Tevez and Bellers and SWP, just for them to get beaten to the header, I don't know. So many shite passes that either went out of play or straight to them, and so many times they knocked the ball long and we headed it right back at them when we had the time to control it and play it out.

Silly mistakes that can be sorted, but they don't seem to be getting sorted.

I don't know who to blame, I think the players need to take a look at themselves, stop thinking they have the right to walk through games and win, and start upping the fucking tempo a bit, and I think the Sheik needs to stop the rot with Hughes quick time. Give him a proper talking to and make it clear that shit runs like this aren't acceptable after spending this much dough and having the squad we have. Tell him 5 games 4 wins or its management review time.
