can someone fucking ban Palus from this cunting thread.

Palus mate, can you just leave it out. We all know how you feel about Edin. Lots of us rate him highly too. This, however, is a MANCHESTER CITY forum. Not the Edin Dzeko fanclub. Can you please try to just contribute to the rest of the forum and bloody ignore the shit re Dzeko as it is becoming very very boring to have to see your name constantly as the last poster on this fucking thread. I'd like to be able to read this thread and it not just be about the world vs Palus but actually about the positives and negatives of our undoubtedly talented striker

Edin is in fine form so far for Bosnia, setting up the equaliser and showing great touch control and movement

Yes, that about sums it up.
Great first half, Bosnia could have had the lead at HT, but Brasil also missed some great chances.

Dzeko though did have one terrible shot from the right side, the ball went over his foot and wide right.

18 goals this season. Top lad.

Used to be that players that got a bit of tap from City fans were at the skill level of Alan Kernaghan and Adrian Heath. I think this guys a few notches above this.

I will still worship Uwe Rosler if Lionel Messi signs & we win ten Champion's Leagues, one after the other, because Uwe Rosler fucking deserves it.

Not only for you, or changed to City funs, changed for all, whether it's for the money, the enormous flow of information, or otherwise can only guess, but certainly as long as Messi played well i daubt he will be in the hearts of supporters today as it once was Maradona, Pele and Gerd Müller and George Best, I do not know why this is so but the truth is that athletes are not superheroes like before ......

This.

People also forget that Uwe was legit good top flight striker, not some clown we worshipped because he was only thing we had.

I agree with general point of Maine Man's post though. I can't for the life of me understand how people are giving shit to prolific striker playing for us. Sure I've seen technically more gifted players but he scores goals and that's his job.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Exactly. Uwe is a bad example as he was pretty good, but 15 years ago if someone had said we'd have a team with a player of Dzekos reputation in our squad I'd have told them to stop taking drugs

I don't think for one second that Mancini signed Dzeko purely as a goalscorer. I think he signed him to score goals AND lead the attack & he will expect & accept nothing less. If he can lead the attack for Bosnia against Brazil, he should be able to do it for City v Blackburn.

If it was purely down to scoring goals, we could cash in on Dzeko & sign some turd like Darren Bent; he will score loads of goals, stroll around a lot and fuck up loads of attacks by giving the ball away. We want Dzeko to score loasds of goals, work hard & NOT fuck up loads of attacks by giving the ball away. Otherwise, why not try to sign someone else who can do both ?

He signed him as an option, as something different. To be honest it looks crystal clear that Dzeko on most days is not good enough to play football at the level City aspire to, whether that be because of talent or application. But when something needs mixing up he is a cracking option to cause confusion in the opposition defence and on his day has a good touch and a not insignificant amount of skill on the ball (he seems to have an ability to wrong foot defenders before he gives it away) and will always pop up with goals.

I would love to see us try to play to his strengths more though, because I see him going to waste - although if he keeps scoring when he comes on, it gives Bobby Manc a nice problem to have.

I really want it to work out for Edin, but the day of reckoning will come where another forward who can contribute to the team as a whole consistently becomes available. If that is Cavani or the other guy from Napoli, Dzeko's City stay will be a short one.

Most of the city fans here should stop being cocky and thankless. Dzeko is doing well. For the month of February he has scored a goal every 41 minutes.(according to few websites I have visited).

People need to understand that he scores in all competitions more than certain players like Higuain, Cavani, Sanchez, who are in the first eleven 95% of the time.

And YES, i am Edin's fan. Anyone have a problem? Would you people not want bosnian, or any other nation to support your club and give it popularity, even if it is just because of one player? Wouldn't you want to see someone different nation wearing a man city jersey, like I am while I'm writing this. :-)

Cavani is a great player, he has showed a lot this season in the Champions League and Seria A, and now everyone wants him. How do you know he'd succeed at city at all?

Stop criticizing, City is first. Everyone scores, everyone messes up from time to time. It is on us to support our players and hopefully celebrate the title.

Cheers

Edin from what I have seen is making HUGE impacts as a sub. He and Sergio just look awesome.........when........this City team grind down the opposition....because we make them chase the game, and fatigue comes into play.....Edin comes on and Sergio comes to life......BANG........Goal.......thats quality.....and I as a City fan since 1969 am loving it. This is the best football I ever seen from our beloved team!

Sorry mate, he scores, but he doesn't turn up to the game more often than not. Ted above was saying that we need a player who will contribute to the game, not just stand at the back post to knock the ball in - UNLESS - Mancini starts playing with more emphasis on the flanks, which I believe he should do regardless of Dzeko playing or not.

Mario for me is the same, too little influence across the whole game. We can't afford for Aguero to be injured or be off his game, because we know that it is very likely that neither Dzeko or Mario WILL definately step upto the plate. Usually with Mario due to stupidity, but with Dzeko its down to whether he chooses to do the hard yards and whether he keeps his composure to lay the ball off to a colleague rather than the oppositions midfield.

Yes, it is harsh, but City are in a position now where they can be cocky and demand the very very best. If Mancini chooses not to change his approach, then Dzeko has to adapt otherwise he will be replaced with someone who will put the work in, and who can be relied on to make a simple pass and not go missing for games at a time.

Dendza mate give up it does not matter how many goals hes score, neither the City on the first place table because these three attackers destroyed all the defense, simply whatever individuals Edin has even done a very good and assists this the blitzkrieg against Arsenal and that is not the only one so hes not a lump. He will go in the summer because ,Manchini put on the bench more and more it is a sign that will probably come Lavezzi or Cavani.Lets hope for a title, Edin will be good wherever he go, I'm sure.
