Agree we have a ton of options but Clichy naturally right footed - wtf? If he's naturally right footed, then my arse is a the Real Madrid coaching staff.

Any chance of a couple of tickets to a real match??;)

Would I be here today if I had been right-footed?

Good story. Have you actually watched him play?

He uses his right leg for standing on and its used for crossing/passing/shooting as much as Lescott uses his right one. If Clichy has a decent right peg, then its time to unleash it as a surprise weapon on the Prem as he's kept it brilliantly hidden for the past 7 years.

I watched the highlights last night and focused on Clichy more because of this debate. He definitely uses his right foot a lot and doesn't look uncomfortable doing so. Compare that to someone like Wayne Bridge who doesn't even use his right foot for standing on.

Course i have watched him play i have seen every city match he has played in!!! I didnt say he did or did not use his right foot i just said he was naturally right footed nothing more nothing less. In fact he played right back(more wing back) in the carling cup semi at home to liverpool when Kolorov came on, did you see that game? Now whats the story with those tickets coach? :D
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bit late into this thread but one thing I have always thought from watching Clichy in training is how good he is with his right foot. Clearly he favours his left but I have seen him many a time ping balls around with his right and look pretty natural doing it. That's both passing and shooting at times. Not many would go for the crossbar challenge with the wrong foot but I have seen him do it and look right having a go.

The reality is though that he plays wide left and the vast majority of his play requires him to use his left foot.

Well this is a weird revelation about Clichy. I'll have to watch him closely now to see how well he can use his right leg.
In theory he could do the reverse of what AJ does and that is cut in from the left and unleash his shots with his right foot but I've never seen him do that, not even once ??

As I said in the report today, I asked Gael if it's true he was a natural right footer and he confirmed he was.Looked it with 1 or 2 of the balls he hit today as well.

I always thought it was common knowledge that Clichy was right footed player, but he was forced to play left back because of need when Ashley Cole left Arsenal as there were no other options for Wenger.

Pablo is great and could probably play center half if he had to. Hope his recovery goes well.

He probably could given the sort of footballer he is but would that make him the smallest centre back in the premiership?

How tall is he? Cannavaro was 1.74 and still was the best in the world.
Just sayin...

So Zaba has a small rectus tear, unlike Piccs numberoneblue (earlier post) who probably has a large rectal tear after catching his ring on a fence

Glad it's just a quads tear and nothing more severe with the knee - great to know that Zaba will be fit for the run-in.

I think we can put the Clichy "has a right foot" idea to bed after last night. He cut in or used his left all the time last night, using his right foot barely once to mis-aim a cross right into the keepers hands.

Clichy might claim to have a right foot, but then Westlife claim to be musicians. City have tried using left-backs at right back before - see Taggart, Gerry (April 15, 1989) at Blackburn - and it generally doesnt seem to work too well.
