What I still don't understand was starting Clichy on the right and benching Lescott last night. Is Bob expecting a long lay off for Micah and Zabba and was looking for an auxiliary RB just in case ? I thought Kolo covered that well in his last match against Bolton ?

If Vinnie and Joleon were to be both out injured at the same time, Bob might have to give some thought to playing Yaya at centre back, particularly if Micah is still struggling.

Not an ideal situation, but possibly better than other poor options.

I wonder how barry would be at CB - he did play several years at Villa as centre back, followed by left back and left mid field. I remember thinking he would have done a job for us on the left quite a few years ago. Can't believe he's been around for so long - and he's 31! I had him in my fantasy team in 1998-99 I think!

I'd go for Dzeko at centre half. Any ball coming into him normally flies off about 20 yards, which is perfect for a centre half.

When Kompanys playing, theres a type of authority that he brings to the side which none of our other central defenders bring to the team.

Lescott can look after himself which gets him by but Toure, and obv Savic literally look scared to death when asked to defend and give off the impression that they can drop a clanger at any moment.

Not good enough. 2 new central defenders in the summer, preferably 2 with confidence.

unfortunately, i was right. Though rare, i hate when that happens.

Still, Roberto should have found any other of 3 options today imho, including playing Micah at CB and using either Kolo, Barry or Milner at RB with Clichy on the left.

i'd rather have see Milner in midfield and TYY at CB.

anyway, lack of creativity in that lineup in my opinion cost us 3 pts. Mancini loves riding his luck by always playing conventional wisdom i suppose.
