Utd, Arsenal & Chelsea have got worse, City & Spurs have got better.

City will continue to get better, Chelsea will rebuild, the rags will either spend money or fall into decline.

The rest of the league will remain about the same standard, which means that for most teams, it's a hard game & often a different formation or style of football to face every week. That's what makes it special. It's fine these fancy dan teams showing up the rags over two games; try keeping it going for 38 & see how it works out.

@Ted,
After reading your post, I thought I'd play around with a few figures and see where they went. The 1st column is the pts ave for each club over the last 10 years (except City, 9yrs, in lower division during the 1st year).
The projected column was calculated by taking the present season's current pts/games total and projecting that form over the remaining games.
The final column is the difference
The figures aren't accurate to any decimal point but still accurate to offer a reasonable picture of the current loss/gain in form.

the rags....82pts.....projected.....90pts.....8pts
Chelsea.....80pts.....projected.....64pts...-16pts
Arsenal.....77pts.....projected.....68pts....-9pts
L'Pool.......69pts.....projected.....57pts....-12pts
Spurs.......55pts.....projected.....74pts.....19pts
City.........52pts .....projected....93pts.....41pts

As you posted and seemingly proving your post, it shows a massive improvement for City, a large one for Spurs and large losses for Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool.
It shows an improvement on their average for the rags, which would seem contradict your thoughts on them getting worse. Personally, I don't think they have got worse, I think they have been playing poorly for the last few seasons and gettin by scraping through games and picking up points because of the scoring feats of Berbaflop and Shrek, who have rescued them.
This season has seen Taggart resort to even more desperate measures by having to rely on keeping Giggs from retirement and exhuming the body of Scholes.
Surely they can't keep going like that and at some point they will implode.

A few years ago, their attack included their best players now (Scholes, Giggs, Rooney) plus Ronaldo & Tevez . Although Berbatov scored goals, he is so lazy they can't use him & the money from Ronald was put in the bank for several years then used to pay off some of the debt once everyone had forgotton about it being there. In the meantime, Ferguson has blown his transfer funds on future England captains & Bebe.

Imo they are at the crossroads. The fact that everyone in the country is scared shitless of them & struggle to string 2 passes together v them, is keeping them several places higher in the league than their performances merit, but the European clubs are starting to see through the myth. At some point, the Prem clubs will do the same unless the buy quality, so imo they have no choice.

The Glazers have to get the chequebook out or the Ferguson era is over. They can't keep relying on Giggs & Scholes.

If they sign a few top players however, they will beat teams like Blbao & Ajax at OT as the gaps were there for them to exploit .

Think it's over for them, and the rest except for us.I think that them fuckers(or any other team) cannot get as good players as us, because of this financial fair play. So the way I see it, is they will have to replace what they have, which is not good enough, with players that are worse, making us out there by ourselves for a good long time. The only way someone is gonna beat us is if they get Tranny and Messi in a team against us and that ain't gonna happen for a number of reasons.

In the past 5 years the English Premier League has produced 16 quarter finalists in the Champion's Lg. TWICE as many as any other European league.

A struggling, managerless Chelsea, has just put another 4 goals past the latest Italian heart throbs. The truth is, Arsenal fucked up in Milan & Utd & City fucked up completely. Both should have done much better & really, there should be at least two teams in the quarter finals this season.

Next season there will be several English teams in the quarters again.

How is the eufa scoring for the 4 teams per league? I think england and spain are way ahead of italy and germany and light years ahead of france so I dont see that changing for a while. Although I am old school and think champions league/european cup should be exactly what it says on the tin. Bring back the cup winners cup!

I agree; the Champion's League should be for Champions.

I would just stick the Cup winners in the Uefa but have the pre qualifying rounds tougher. The Uefa would all be miles better if the Champion's League was as it used to be; there would be two great competitions.

Basically, it is impossible for England to lose their 4 places for the next 7-8 seasons, unless all English clubs fall at the first hurdle, and the national team loses every competitive match. Even then, there'll be changes made to the system to keep 4 English clubs in, because UEFA know how much their revenue relies on the cross-compatibility of supporting a PL & CL team outside of Europe.

napoli were worse. cheating and diving are part of their tactics (and the same is true for nearly all of the continental clubs.) sadly, i'm convinced we need to cheat more if we're to succeed in european comp.
