Why are some people suggesting that those of us who find this kind of thing unacceptable are being unfair to Dzeko ?

When have we ever accepted this from any player ?

Ted,
Comment wasn't aimed at you, and not sure if you think it was. I didn't see the Lisbon game as I was away, so can't comment on that incident. Personally, I think his control and aggression around the ball are some of the worst aspects of his play. However, the comment was more a general discussion that TV and live give a completely different perspective of a game.

Those therefore who've only seen Dzeko on TV for City may think he's done better than those who also see his off the ball effort.

No, I agree that most of his laziness goes unnoticed on tv, as he's usually out of the picture when the ball is passed forward to him.

The instance I'm talking about could be clearly seen on tv though & I don't know why any of his excusers find it acceptable that one of our strikers does that, when others in the past have been slaughtered for much less.

I cannot defend his performance in that game...he was worse than Aguero....... who was also shit.
THEY SAY SWEARING IS DUE TO A LIMITED VOCABULARY. I KNOW THOUSANDS OF WORDS, BUT I STILL PREFER "FUCK OFF" TO "GO AWAY"

Aguero has had quite a few fairly shit games imo but my beef with Dzeko is purely that I think his shit performances are usually down to lack of effort/bottle rather than him just having an off day. When Mario Balotelli shows you up for lack of effort, you really need to have a word with yourself.

Ted,
Regarding Aguero and his dip in form, I think it was always on the agenda at some point. There was always a danger that his 1st season in the Prem would take its toll and this may happen. It is quite likely that Mancini and his sports science staff were aware of this and that is why Mancini has been so ready to accept Tevez back.

A team where Dzeko isnt good enough and kept on the bench - should easily dismantle a club like Swansea, I believe.
It should never be a question of good/bad day etc. So that makes me wonder - is Dzeko really that much worse / less better than the other two attackers?

I think NOT.

As I've said earlier - Balotelli wins you games, Dzeko wins you championships.

Mancini, you are soooo fucking stupid. With 2 or 3 decent crosses Dzeko would kill them. The fact.

I even regret he gave him lousy 3 minutes.

Wigan away.
Today was that sort of match.

Nevertheless, I have my own opinion, and that is, for MCFC, no Dzeko - no party.

I think he's been carrying one of those niggling injurys that allows you to play but not at 100%.

This time next season, he will have 4 or 5 goals from 25/30 yards. Imo he doesn't shoot from there because he's not 100% right.

I hate ManUTD for as long as i watch football, and I dont have to be a strictly City fan to see what's goin' on here.
And I dont have to bee too clever to see that Dzeko could have helped his team whole a lot more than some other that were out there.

I would have brought Dzeko on early 2nd half, as I think he will be embarrassed by his shitty midweek performance & try a lot harder but the idea that City are nothing without Dzeko is bullshit.

I didnt mean it that way.
I just think that they would win today if he was given more chance.

MCFC can win the title without him, but with him more often on the pitch, the chances are much higher IMO. Offcourse, with his right attitude.

Not the topic, but I also think that Pizzaro should play today.

I did think that Edin shoud've been introduced earlier today, a point always made after the fact.

Actually, seeing as this is a Manchester City forum, you do. You support Dzeko not City so any views you have on this topic are not objective because you defend him to the hilt, as do all the other Dzeko fanboys, regardless of how shit he plays. This topic is about Dzeko's performances in a City shirt, which on the whole have been poor. I'm sick of reading the drivel that posters like you and Palus post on this forum. If you don't support City then do one. No player is bigger than the club

He's got a point though, as a striker then Edin is the dogs. Seems we still want the Darius Vassell's of this world who will run around for 90 minutes rather than put it in the back of the net.

Or is it people craving the Tevez type approach, I don't know.
