attack, attack, attack

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

attack, attack, attack

no more pussyfooting around. we have the players to outscore any team in the world (including barca & real). in our remaining games this season, the players should be sent out with the simple instruction - batter the opposition. play them off the fucking park, don't sit back and wait for things to happen, take the game by the scruff of it's neck straight from kick off.

the reason the rags are up there this season, is because they never give up and always try to play on the front foot - even when they're getting battered. that's how they beat spuds & norwich in recent weeks and also how they managed to cling on to a glimmer of hope vs bilbao in the europa league.

attack! attack!
attack! attack! attack!

Tbh they got through all of those games with a healthy slice of luck. If we'd had that we would have won comfortably yesterday.

I agree with the premise though. We should have been throwing the kitchen sink at them 10 mins into the second half. Perhaps now draws are no use to us, that's what we will do.

ted well have to do i mean spain lost to england trying to walk the ball into the net, our style of play is great to watch but nobody cares at the end of the day what style if you win, scum get it wide and crosses in the box and it works most of the time, i thought we looked more dangerous when adam johnson came on yesterday, it must be good though when you know your behind and the refs gonna help you out, must give scum loads of confidence.

It's also a help when the opposition are expecting you to score; if you can't manage it, they create something for you or miss an obvious trick because they are so worried about everything else.

It's true though, delivery of the ball from wide is one of the few things rags do better than us.

We need to learn that ugly goals count for exactly the same as beautifully constructed ones.

Here's a radical idea then .......... "Shoot" for fuck sake !

I agree. At times in the midfield, it looks as though you can count the 4 or 5 players just standing still...waiting for a miracle to happen. Unless Silva has the leather, there is zero creativity or attacking movement. I dont know if thats our players fault, or a lack of coaching....but with our talent, we should be attacking and creating, all game. We got the best keeper on the planet so move forward and attack !!!!! And how about some movement off the ball for f*cks sake!

City were patient yesterday, slowly building up attacks, probing, looking for an opening, and that's often worked for them this season, it was even working in the first 15 minutes against ManU in the Cup till disaster struck. But sometimes they have to play it that bit faster, as at Blackburn when it was 0-0 and going nowhere in the first half, in the second half they upped the tempo. Or at Wolves in the League Cup when they went 1-0 down and came back with three, nearly four, before half-time - that was the most ruthless City have been this season.
If it comes down to having to win the derby in April to go back on top I am confident City will do it.

Agreed we need the team attacking all guns blazing from now until the end of the season. We should by no means be playing any other way with the players we have they are more than capabale of destroying teams. It really bugs me to see us play a more defensive game away from home when we could easily approach these games as we do at home knowing we have enough quality to outdo any team in the league.

We look at our best when we attack but quite frankly, shocking, when we arse about with the ball, playing possession with no end product.
