Michael Johnson - 24 Today

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Agree I just don't get the unpleasantness re MJ from some posters....and those who refuse to admit that he was an extremely promising prospect in that season with Elano are barmy.

I look out for all of our ex-Academy lads when I see them in action or see their sides' match reports. Some of them I didn't particularly like or rate when at City but I still wish all of them well and want to see them do as well as possible. I can't understand why most if not all of us wouldn't feel that way if I'm honest

At a young age, Johnno stepped onto the stageand showed glimpses of amazing potential. Those that consider themedia and hype being over the top are right but that doesn't mean he was shit. It means he was a young lad, learning his trade and moving towards his potential....How some can spew so much vitriol ar him amazes me too.

Two horrific injuries and a long running abdominal problem destroyed his dream. He was a kid and maybe those who expected him to deal with that as a mature adult were expecting too much.
He was a kid, albeit a very talented one who had his career explode in his face just at the point where it was about to take off.

During that time, I had a decent chat with the lad. He wasn't pissed or stoned, he was just a likeable kid, very polite and well mannered and certainly not an idiot.
I KNOW THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU UNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU THINK I WROTE, BUT I AM NOT SURE YOU REALISE THAT WHAT YOU READ IS NOT WHAT I MEANT

Played for EDS in Holland last week and scored a sweet goal.
Club hasn't given up on him and vice versa

just seen highlights on OS: wtf!
I mean what a great piece of skill and rare example of direct football [my limited grasp of english doent help me there] that goal is.
Very few players are capable to even imagine a through stop like that he has done with his chest. We all know his box to box strenght but MJ has so much more in his football bag and it's just a shame that the pletora of injuries he's suffered has prevented him to show them off.
I really would like he had a couple of seansons injury free to develop his full potential: I'm totally convinced Bob might develop him up to renew the brightest glories of City Accademy past products.
here I still live in the hope and the lad would really deserve his full chance to spark.

If he couldn't get a game for Leicester he aint gonna get a game for us.
He had the potential and Liverpool were allegedly ready to pay a lot of coin for him.
Shame.

haha, it'll certainly help both cause to step a couple of pounds down.
Wouldn't be so nice to have them at the Carl's Classic paramilitary summer camp in Montana?

If an ex rag is given a chance then MJ on the goal all be it for the EDS was an example of his class and the if he was fit.

I'll explain it to you. What you meant was "based on the standard of the goal he scored, albeit for the EDS, he has plenty of class. If he was fit, he should be given a chance. Owen Hargreaves was given a chance, and he is an ex-rag".
