I love you to bits mate and maybe you have a point about my positivity but for the last 40 odd years I have fought against the incessant rag jibes with little or no armoury. Relegations, losses and failures, week after week, season after season do not match up to their trebles, doubles, their over inflated arrogance and their smug grins.
For 40 odd years Carl, I have heard such garbage as; City can't, City won't, City never do, City will fail, City this and City that. I have read it in the media and had it shoved down my throat on the TV.....NOW I COME ON HERE AND READ EXACTLY THE SAME NEGATIVE SHITE FROM OUR OWN CITY FANS....can't, won't, shouldn't, couldn't.

Like you, Ted and some others, I want Bob and City to take the remains of this season by the throat, shake it about and deliver its corpse to the Taggart, on the steps of the swamp as we go there to pick up our trophy. You demand it of Bob, you demand it of the players but what about the City fans? Are City fans too scared to exit their comfort zone of failure? Too frightened to actually think we might just succeed...Certainly too bottleless to BELIEVE.

Even though we have sat at the top of the League for most of the season, I have never yet, not even once heard a song or a chant that contains anything like "WE'RE GONNA WIN THE LEAGUE" or "WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS". What the fuck are City fans so fucking scared of?

...and to finish....just on the offchance that we do hit a snag and finish as runners up, D'yer know what Carl, I AM NOT GONNA CURL UP IN A CORNER IN A FOETAL POSITION AND STICK PINS THROUGH MY EYES. I AM GONNA STAND PROUDLY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BIGGEST BUNCH OF RAG BASTARDS I CAN FIND AND TELL EM TO ENJOY THEIR CELEBRATIONS...COS ITS THE LAST TIME THEY WILL EVER DO SO. WE HAVE SCARED THE LIVIN SHITE OUT OF TAGGART AND HIS MORONS THIS SEASON,THEY KNOW IT AND WE KNOW IT.
They don't scare us and they don't scare me...Despite the billions spent by all those other clubs, they have collapsed. With a few weeks left, we are sat at the top and nose to nose with them. Us!...Little Citeh, who they took the piss out of or ignored.

So you can take your tantrums, your cants, wonts, shouldnts, wouldnts, never dos, give em a good polish and SHOVE EM UP YER ARSE.

Luv n hugs.

We are all different John..I have said this to you before..some can take it with a pinch of salt like you can and others go fucking spastic when things go wrong...like me.

Thats just how it is.

i think we'll be lucky to scrape second. The arse are going to nick it from us. Just sayin.

While you have every right to have that belief, it's pointless, fucking annoying, and takes away from your own enjoyment of watching each game. It also makes you look like a soft twat. Hearing you is like listening to a backseat driver who constantly thinks you're going to crash when everything is under control. FFS WE'RE TOP STILL TOP OF THE LEAGUE!

John explained it quite eloquently above, so I'll just leave it at that.

Carl,
Please accept my apologies for addressing that rant at you mate. It was actually targeted at a much wider group on here.

We are not so different and I don't shrug off defeat easily. But I refuse to lie down and take it. Stamping my feet only bruises me and I don't do beating myself or City up...it's pointless.

Maybe our difference is that I am defiant and refuse to give up. If that means wiping my nose today in order to smack theirs tomorrow, then I'll go for that.....as long as tomorrow I get to smack theirs properly....GOOD AND HARD.

Doomie,
Please use better bait
Just sayin.

The difference is that City has been top of the league for 7 months of the season, has the best squad in the league, is currently top of the table, and after today should only be 3 points back with a game at home (where we have set a record for most consecutive league wins) against the scum. This is the position that any fan should be dreaming of: the final push onto glory, when the team needs their fans the most.

England have a mediocre team, with a shit manager, and will be lucky to get out of the group stages. If you cannot see the difference there is no help for you.

It seems now that you've already shit your pants, you just want to come up with excuses as to why instead of attempting to clean it up.

The difference is that we once had a 5 point lead, likely to become a 3 point deficit tonight.

That would suggest that over a prolonged period of the last several months, they have been considerably better than us at getting results, and there is little sign we can overcome the problems that have blighted us.

That, over a period pf several months, is a slow agonising decline in our title aspirations, and people are not being negative or bottlers, they are seeing what is in front of their very eyes. I am pretty sure that all those with negative thoughts will be therer cheering the team on on saturday, so let each to their own.

Blind faith gets you nowhere, and more often than not as a city fan, just leaves you end up looking like a knob.

I think we are talking and putting the wrong questions.

If you ask me, there are more things in stake, instead just this season and if we had blown it or no. We had Bob for almost three years now and there had been so many times when he fucked things up, managed to get us out of our mind with crappy performances and games when we looked clueless.

On the other hand for me, like for many of you, he became an important figure in our club, he is a great person and every season we grew and grew and after four years in this regime, we finally become one of the best teams in the world.
So, the question is does Bob got what it takes not to repeat the same mistakes he did? Does he has what it takes to deliver and start a dinasty here?

All the questions from above are important if we win/lose the title. That fact doesn't change anything.

It's not blind faith when we are in our current position, having been without Yaya and Kolo for a month, Vinny and Mario suspended for 4 games each, Tevez AWOL for 5 months, and both of our 1st choice center backs injured for the past few weeks. It's not blind faith when you look at who is available now in our damn squad. And it's not blind faith when you consider what the team is capable of playing like with 8 games to go.

Blind faith would be thinking that Spurs will win the league or that Liverpool will qualify for the champions league.

There are plenty of games to go and anything can happen. Why do you assume that our form will stay consistently poor, while the rags will keep winning everything? If anything, I'd say you have blind faith in the rags

B- make a bloody sub for one of the multi million pound players on the bench?

Thinking all is well now, won't help us in a month if the current trend we can all see carries on. I've not done the maths but I imagine another 4-6 weeks like both teams have just had will cost us the title.

This is why i get so angry. However I dont think we have anything to do with it? Other than the noise/ support on saturday (as I'm starting to get doubtful of us playing at home now!).

The outcry of the fans (albeit on messageboards) came after Swansea. And we have played exactly the same in the 3 proceeding games. So what the fuck can we do? I wish I could get10 mins with the players.

Can ANYBODY say that the rags weren't panicking tonight ? Fans, players, manager ?

Do our players need any more incentive to believe they can win this league than that ?

If only we could trust people like Moyes to put the same effort into stopping and thugging them as he does v us, they could actually drop points at home. That rag performance tonight would not have been enough to beat the usual Everton that we have to play against.

they have squeaky bums that's for sure. rooney off scholes on proved that. blackburn will be a tough game for them and play like they did tonight and qpr will get a result at the swamp. 2 draws are not unthinkable.

on tonight's showing, it definitely ain't over.

For our hopes, their next 3 games are the most important, because they are playing with teams that are in big trouble. Blackburn, Qpr and Wigan, three teams that must play their arse off to win and stay in the league. The other big game will be with us and maybe Sunderland, because of the history (little) that O'Neill has with us.

The other games with Swansea, Everton and Villa are games where they are playing teams that don't have any motivation, they are safe and don' have any european hopes, so 9 points are in the bag.

Those will decide the title.

If Everton were playing us, they would play it like a cup final. Fulham made a right arse of Utd's goal but they had a go tonight & at least treated the competition with respect. If Everton are not willing to do the same, they are a disgrace & that goes for Villa too. Both are better away sides than Fulham. The rags are shitting themselves & lying about it. Any side could get into them on the day.
