i read that too - their writeup of the match was critical of Webb and his inconsistencies as well.

Webb has been one of Fergiescum's most important signings.

Whenever the Scum aren't playing well (which is often these days), if he's on the park he's the one who picks them up, leads by example and gets them going again. He's totally irreplaceable for his all round and vital contribution to their play.

He's sure to get the nod against us for the derby game and, if that's the case, I think Bobby Manc ought to consider getting Big Nige to do a man marking job on him because if he's allowed the freedom of the pitch, he'll run things and destroy us with his skill, perception and decision making.

He's the most vital cog in the Baconface machine and will probably merit future awards for his contribution to "football".

My goodness, that list is totally depressing. What a bunch of mundane, mediocre inadequates (and those are only their good qualities).

How I wish we had someone of the calibre of Pierluigi Colina (spelling ??) in this country, to provide a benchmark to aspire to and to help shake up all the dross from their comfort zones.

Just think, it was said in the past we used to have the best referees in the world......

Think he was 4th official for them the week before he ref'd us as well. So an involvement in their games in 3 out of 4, with our game sandwiched in the middle.

With 19 refs, they must red each team twice, presumably home and away. Same again as 4th official. Just odd that all Webb's seem to have come in a very short period. Must just be coincidence.
