Agreed.
Also, what I find interesting is who is pulling the strings currently at the club and who is sanctioning him to make these comments. I can't accept that these are just off-the-cuff remarks. Seems planned to me. Maybe I'm reading too much in to it but it seems odd for a bloke in his position to be coming out with stuff like this.
Agreed that there is no way these are off-the-cuff comments. I think the timing is very interesting in that its still a few weeks from the Derby, but exactly the time we need to highlight the hand we are currently being dealt. Surely if nothing else it means there will be an actual focus in the referee's performance at the Blackburn game and hopefully the whole run in.
I agree with the theory that it makes us look bitter to an extent. But it is Vieira rather than Mancini or one of the players, so they are a step removed (unlike Sir B, Ferdinand et all who cant shut up about us). THe comments were made at the Soccerex conference in Manchester today where he is representing all the good things that we are currently trying to promote.
At the end of the day, its Business so we have to stand up for ourselves when we are being treated unfairly. I like the subtle method. If heaven forbid, some journo runs with the story and goes digging that we can all supply the details that show that he's right.
Be interesting to see how it pans out
