And too old for the clubs strategy. Why do people continually not understand that the club will not again be spunking huge sums on players 28/29 who will have no resale value, a point Marwood has made again and again.

I was going to say Robben.
If the club sees it fit to purchase that one player who can bring home a title, they will go and get that player...no matter what his resale value. Sure, its not the smart way to operate on a day to day basis, but if we dont win the league this year....all options will be on the table.

We have a few that age or older so a team full of kids or players all the same age does not strike me as what Bobby is aiming for.I think players peak at the age Robben is now so for me he is a must if he is for sale.As for the striker would not be unhappy to see Ade back

Around the first team, we have Kolo Toure who is 31. Who was a Hughes signing from 3 years ago.

Who has Mancini signed for a fee who was aged over 26 in the two and a bit years he has been in charge? The club have consistently stated their policy, and since Berbatov so have United, because there is simply no business case for paying the sort of fees clubs are looking to recoup from the likes of Sneider, Robben etc, and mark my words, these players will all end up running their contracts down and leaving on frees in their early 30s.

You could say it is a positive step to come from FFP

Those that have suggested Krasic need to give their heads a seriously long wobble. Cheating shit cunt who hides and has a heart the size of a pea. Cast aside by Juve and would be lost in the premier league. Also, Bob is about as likely to sign a player with his attitude as he is to sign me.

I really do wonder if people know anything about the names they quote or if they're just quoting names.

Stand out players for me in positions we need to look at are:

CB - Subotic
CF - Cavani / RVP / Lavezzi
Wide - Hazzard
CM - Javi Martinez

Just Hazard and Cavani will cost us at least 80 mil, so it will be very difficult for us to buy them and still manage to stay in the FFP line.
As for Javi Martinez, this season he was used in most of the games as a central defender and his place in the first lineup was taken by Herrera, the lad that had that run through all of the rag defence, in Bilbao, but missed.

I don't think we will spend as usual, but my concern is that we need to buy someone that can make the difference and that doesn't have 1 good week and 3 poor.

i don't think the squad needs much , just keep playing together, replace those who want to or must leave, but we really do have a great squad, so whoever comes in must be special for me.

i'm sorry but that bit about krasic is bullshit. he was brilliant last season. out of favor now, and low on confidence, but he deffo has the skill and pace to succeed. and the cheating/diving thing can be unlearned...even ronaldo managed it.

I'm sorry too but he's a complete shit house and a massive flop. I don't think he's made ten appearances this year. Tell me what part of this is bullshit:

I'm with CityGer on this one, especially as in his original post he flagged up Neven Subotic for CB, which always gets my vote.

Just feel Krasic is too toxic for us and we could do better. If we're selling Tevez and Dzeko, as well as off-loading any more of the dead wood still on our hands (and I suppose I'm including Adebayor in this category), we should have a compellingly sizeable war chest to bring in Subotic, Cavani plus one other decent signing, without unduly transcending FFP requirements..

i remember that. notice there are no direct quotes from him whatsoever (unlike eden hazard who has been repeatedly quoted talking up all of our rivals).

anyway, krasic is not my 1st choice, but for the right price (i.e. cheap), i think he's worth a punt and could help us next season.

that's even more why we must have him. not only because , as it stands nowadays he his the only player who one might dare to see as the natural replacement of Yaya when our joint (with Vinnie) leader will naturally fade. But also because during the hopefully still long sporting life of Yaya, the availability of JM will also solve the CB pair issue at the utmost level: both Yaya (won a CL final palying as contingency CB) and Javi might field alongside Vinnie with huge and solid success.

so in a nutshell: by taking Javi Martinez City shall have either the option to rest more carefully Their most influential player in the midfield and open 2 additional contingency (I still have plenty of confidence with Joleon) options for CB role. all with one player.

I would love to see City return to raid the Emirates once again this summer, they seem to love doing business and i think Vermaelen would compliment Vince very nicely.

If we are going for a forward either Higuain or Mario Gomez(doubtful Bayern would sell).

Also think Robben would be superb on the wing, don't care what anyone says about age/injurys he would really add a real cutting edge.Would happily settle for Lavezzi either.

Dire need is a winger with some pace, strikers to replace Tevez and likely Dzeko, and a top class centre half.

Cavani fills one spot, maybe even Guidetti eplaces Dzeko as 4th striker - not my choice but maybe the clubs - and Hazard would appear to fill those gaps. As for the c-half spot, I'd be lying if I pretended I'd seen enough of Subotic to recommend him but a top class c-half to play alongside Kompany is required.

Tevez will be gone, Dzeko might be gone, Pizzarro should be gone, De Jong likely also gone. Wouldnt surprise me if Kolarov left too.

I think we will be relatively quiet over the summer but if Tevez and Dzeko go there will be a need for replacements. Personally I think we'd be wasting our time buying a centre forward who thrives on early ball from wide (like Dzeko) because we dont play that way. Cavani seems to offer more in terms of link up play and maybe that is a goer, not sure. I like Lavezzi, but in this particular shop I cant see the club walking away with both items. If Mancini is as stubborn as some think he is then he wont bin Savic yet so I'd be suprised if we sign a big name centre half. Two high(ish) profile players, maybe a promising youngster or two.
