Heard the news a couple of minutes ago. Terrible. I didn't catch it all, but did they say he has acute leukemia? If it's true, he might have to fight for his life.

Dont know much about it but any sort of cancer is tough, hope he battles it, always liked him...

I am NO medical expert, isn't it effectively cancer of the blood? Used to hear loads about it in the 70's/80's but thought they managed get a high success rate in curing/beating it with the help of blood transfusions.

It depends somewhat on which of the two acute leukaemia subtypes he has, but being in his 30s is an awkward age, prognostically - cure rates are much better in children. Really hope he pulls through.

And yeah, it's a cancer of the bone marrow where red blood cells that carry oxygen, white cells that maintain immunity and platelets that clot the blot aren't able to mature properly.
