UEFA have announced their decision regarding Manchester City’s complaint of racial abuse towards Mario Balotelli.

The Club lodged an official complaint to UEFA following the 2-1 UEFA Europa League victory over FC Porto on Thursday 16 February.

UEFA’s statement, released today, reads:

“The UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body has imposed a fine of 20,000 euros on FC Porto for racist conduct of their supporters (Article 11bis - Discrimination and similar conduct) at their first-leg round of 32 UEFA Europa League match against Manchester City FC on 16 February in Porto.

“The club has the right to appeal within three days from the dispatch of the decision.”

Half of what they fined Wenger for having a go at the officials.

Zero tolerance my foot.

It does seem a pittance doesn't it? What about forfeiting their winnings from that round.

That's not in the spirit of the game, a handshake should suffice; ask blatter. We got 5000 for throwing a bit of paper on the pitch so it's a bit of a piss-take really.

Also, didn't they complain about us at our ground? That'll probably be a worldwide ban then.

If it was an English club..lengthy ban from Europe

Amazes me what they get away with on the continent..stabbings..hooliganism..racism

Yet the punishments are negligible

They really don't like us do they?

It says on this page at 16.17...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/17674085

...that City have been fined 30,000 Euros for taking the field late.

I am so pleased the European game is in such safe hands.
