Kompany's challenge was one footed, got the ball, was in the middle of the pitch and got none of the player. Red card 20 minutes in.
Chris Foy, a model referee.

He is a class act. A wonderful find by Newcastle's brilliant scouting team.
A bargain yes. Wonderful Scouting? He had scored 39 goals in 67 games in the Bundeslegia for a average side. They did not find him under a rock.
ross in contrary shocker.
fuck me, what a shame, used to be a top poster. now just trolls the board looking for an opportunity to disagree.
I said newcastle have a wonderful scouting team. im right.
You're wrong and are a sad, sad cunt.
get a life, don't give up
He's got a point, though. That's about the same goal average Dzeko had in the Bundesliga. Stats like that are bound to create a lot of attention.
And Tiote was considered one of the absolutely best midfielders in the Dutch league when Newcastle went for him. He'd also proven that he could perform on a bigger stage against top teams in the Europa League.
What Newcastle have done well is that they've gotten players in that fit their way of playing and that have been able to acclimatise to English football. But they weren't unknown entities before Toons picked them up ...
The point is, Newcastle identified these players and went out and got them on the cheap before anyone else.
That points to a successful scouting system. They deserve a lot of credit for it. I can't understand why/how that can be disputed.
The Dzeko stat does more to prove my point than disprove it...he's a donkey, Cisse isn't!!!....who got the best deal at -£15Mil??

Was really hoping mackems would snatch a late goal. Still, another 2 pts dropped by god's own squad, so not all bad.

Not just them 2, Bardsley's another one. However, if they try pulling that one I can see O'Neill giving them the rocket.
