The Etihad Player of the Year will be revealed at the MCFC Awards 2012 night - and you can help decide which Blues star lifts the glittering prize on 3 May.
However the final act of this remarkable season plays out, it has been such a memorable campaign that, for the first time, we couldn't restrict the shortlist of heroes to five.

So your choice will be just as difficult as ours when online voting opens on Monday 16 April, with six nominated Blues heroes all worthy of gracing that awards night stage.

They are ... Joe Hart, Micah Richards, Vincent Kompany, Yaya Toure, David Silva, and Sergio Aguero - a parade of international talent that has done the Club proud this season.

Not only can you make your vote count from Monday, but you can also be there at the Etihad Stadium to see the prizes given out on the Club's most prestigious night of the year.

Roberto Mancini and his entire first-team squad will be there for a VIP black tie event that will look back on the heroes, goals and highlights of the 2011/12 season, culminating in the Etihad Player of the Year Award in association with MCFC Supporters Club.

Not being funny but how has JL not made that short list. Bit of a joke really. I cant bring myself to vote at the moment as still devestated about what has gone on.

I said Lescott wouldn't get a chance & I was right. Joke.

Listening to all the pundits wanking themselves over VK's performance v Arsenal & not mentioning Lescott at all, just showed the ridiculous lack of respect people have for the job he does.

I love big Vinny but get annoyed when people that don’t watch City week in and week out go on about how amazing he has been this season, "im like no he hasn’t, Lescott has been the better of the two." MOTD syndrome again, or Adam Johnson syndrome as I like to call it. The next fan of another team that tells me about the amazing Adam Johnson and how we had ruined is England career will get a punch.

hahahaha love that last line. Go to agree as well. Re Lescott I think he is undoubtedly our best defender this year bar none(I don't count the keeper) but if he dares to make a mistake (as every player does) it will be highlighted and not just by Carl! Of course he isn't Bobby Moore but he is a top defender who has had a great season.

If one had to be moved out and it isnt Vinnie it would be Aguero for me. Don't get me wrong he has been very good and I love him to bits but I actually don't think he has played the best he can by quite a way.Next year I expect him to be brilliant.

Why a shortlist?

There are 12-16 players who have contributed regularly this year, and they all deserve the chance to get some recognition - and as the recent thread showed, there was a lot of support for Lescott.

I totally agree, Aguero shouldn't have been there. He had half a good season if anything. Lescott and even Barry I would say should have been ahead of him for the work rate they put in day in day out, and it goes by unnoticed!!

Doesn't score enough goals for me.

Agree about Joleon. Doesn't seem to get the nod with our own fans like the believe all the shite all the media say cos we paid £26m for him.

I'd be hard pressed to pick this year. I think Sergio would get the nod because Dave's had a bad month just at voting time.

Lescott is an odd omission. I couldn't believe he was still first choice in August, but he's been the pick of the centre halves. He's perhaps struggled a bit when Vince was missing, but Vince has struggled without him as well.

Vince has not been as good as last season, but that would be too much for the pundits to notice.

No lescott, what a joke! Expected more from the club this is something i expect from people who dont watch us. I wont be voting for this reason.

is there anyway we can contact the club and get him added to the poll?

Agree with you comments and sentiments regarding Lescott. However not voting is a slight on the other members of that squad who have put in consistently good performances.
